Kidd was last All-NBA in 2003-04, when he received First Team honors. He has been named to the First Team five times and to the Second Team once. The All-NBA teams are selected by the media.</div>

When I did my awards in the predictions thread I had him on the third team, if that's considered "All-NBA," but if the guy is saying he'll be a first teamer, that's just crazy. I guess you could make a case for it, but it's just not going to happen, not with Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Gilbert Arenas, and Tracy McGrady having the amazing season's they're having. Here's how I have the All-NBA Teams playing out with the guards -

1st Team - Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant
2nd Team - Gilbert Arenas, Tracy McGrady
3rd Team - Jason Kidd, Vince Carter

I'm sure he isn't saying that Kidd will be a first teamer, but perhaps a third teamer.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">We bring this up now because until we check back in with our notes network Thursday (that's when a bunch of typists get together and exchange column fodder), it's very hard to determine where J-Kidd ranks among those in contention for third-team backcourt.

Only two things are certain:

Nash and Kobe are locks for first team.

And it would be really hard to vote for anyone other than Chauncey and Gilbert for the second team.</div>

With the Nets standing, Kidd's name will be absent from the first team. If it does not turnout to be a popularity contest (which is unlikely), Kidd should land in the second team. Kidd should be on the third team, at the least.

Kidd will be on the second or third team. I don't see him not being on the all NBA teams.
