It doesn't seem to attract any attention, but this storm about to hit the NW Coast will have a low pressure eye of about 953 millibars as it hits the coast. That is less than the eye of Mathew at about 970 or so.
The projection is only for gust of wind up to 85 mph. I don't believe that will turn out to be accurate.

I think I will go double up the mooring lines on the MarAzul.

For those of us who are idiots, what does any of that mean?

Also, wasn't the store back in the mid 90's more powerful than the Columbus day storm, but further off the coast?

>>> I might try to answer later. When I have a clue.

It was bad, but not quite as strong as the 62 storm.

953 millibars scares the shit out of me!

Grib file. The storm will hit the coast from Vancouver Island to San Francisco.

Looks like us here in Portland will just get a bunch of rain?

MAYBE YOU SHOULD DO AN INDIGENOUS RAIN DANCE BRO

So....it'll be like any other October weekend.

I'm not sure if the driver will get charged. Even if he does Nevada has very loose rules for self defense.

Take care of that beautiful boat Marz....hope she weather's the storm without a scratch

I moved her over to the floating dock on the west side of the harbor, tucked in behind the High Dock parking lot, which should provide some protection from the SW winds.
There isn't a better place to go.

Just got back into town after two nights at Devils Lake State Park in Lincoln City. What a great time storm watching and hopping from one dive bar to the next. It was really crazy in places. Thank God beer taps don't need electricity! No better way to spend time in that kind of weather. Last night our trailer pad was totally surrounded by 5"-6" of standing water. We had some serious fun but figured we "cheated death" enough to bail out ahead of tomorrow's even bigger storm.

Well I'm going to drive in the monsoon all weekend to work...hope it's not a flood plain and they have power
