The Utah Flash (28-20) battled in a tough matchup, but were ultimately edged out by the Bakersfield Jam (29-19) by a score of 113-104.
First on the board, the Flash tied the game off of Andre Ingram's three pointer at 5:56. Unfortunately the Flash couldn't regain the lead. The Jam had their largest lead of nine points late in the quarter, but the Flash closed the gap to end the quarter [32-30].
The Jam opened up the second quarter with an 8-0 run, quickly pulling away from the Flash. The Flash's defense wasn't able to hold the Jam's quick offense. The Jam held the largest lead of the game [18 points] with 6:47 left in the first half. Going into the half the Jam led 64-50.
The Jam had a 20-6 run that early in the second quarter that solidified their lead in the first half.
Ronald Dupree and Luke Zeller both executed well during the first half, shooting 5-5 and 4-4, respectively.
The Flash outscored the Jam 27-22 in the third quarter. The Flash had their largest run of 7-0 in the third quarter finishing the quarter down by nine points [86-77].
Both teams scored an even 27 points in the fourth quarter.
Costner led the Flash with 18 points. Tony Gaffney added 17 points and nine rebounds. Anthony Harris added 14 points off the bench.
Warren met his season-high 25 points. Brandon Wallace finished with 14 points and 6 rebounds. In his Bakersfield Jam debut, Lakers assignee, Derrick Caracter, had 13 points on 6-for-10 shooting.
