so people on a message board are right but everyone in the portland media is wrong?
please, everyone knows oden is gone.
Jesus Christ, did everybody forget their meds? Can we just enjoy the present? For what it's worth, Oden got cleared to practice today.
If Oden plays well enough to get a good pay-day but wants to leave, wouldn't it be in both sides best interest to do a sign-and-trade - Oden gets more money, we at least get something in return?
One Center Court's new worst nightmare wears No. 52. Oden said Thursday that he'll sign Blazers one-year qualifying offer, shutting down other offers. Which only means that the countdown can begin to the day we see the soon-to-be unrestricted free-agent in a Miami Heat jersey, or maybe the Lakers or Bulls garb. But what I can no longer see is Oden in Portland beyond this season.
He's waited the Blazers out. They're invested to the hilt. They've lost their grip on him. And now, if Oden gets healthy, he's a decent bet to be with another team next season even as Portland is selling today's development as hopeful.
Basically, if they really want him next summer, so will everyone else.
Everyone but myopic fans think Oden will bolt

Hey look, this is all POR inept Management's fault....
They SHOULD have at least ATTEMPTED to offer him a multi year deal, 3-4 years $8-9 million, maybe (hopefully) make that 3rd/4th year player\team option.....
But they didn't...so he signs the QO and now can walk for nothing, or at best, he plays well enough to warrant a fair amount of interest and POR had to overpay to keep him (if they can).....
Just complete bungling management....
