Jason Quick’s dog died

Got two now. Cain Corso and a German Shepherd. Both are actually rescue dogs. They were bred but didn't make the cut I guess? The Shepherd was left tied up under an old truck trailer and was almost unapproachable when we found her. She is a dream to have now. The sweetest girl you could ever ask for. The Cain Corso obviously was beaten pretty badly and was almost dead when found. He will only respond to me or my wife at this point but my little boy can get away with anything with him so I assume he will have even more influence with him. I've had dogs since I was a kid and It never gets any easier losing them. Feel for Jason Quick on this one. That has to be tough.

I had an English bulldog and his name was Rumpelstilskin. He was four years old and I moved into a new apartment and it was really warm in the place... so the second morning I ordered an air conditioner to help ensure Mr. Rumps wouldn't overheat.

That evening, he started panting. Like... a lot. I gave him some water but he kept panting. So I carried him downstairs to go outside, where it was a bit cooler. He kept panting although it seemed to be getting better... I then carried him upstairs, thinking I'd put him in a cool bathtub to cool him off. By the time I got up the stairs, he had stopped breathing and was dead.

It was heartbreaking. I look back now and MAYBE I could have given him CPR? I just don't know. It was about seven years ago and it still hurts.

Losing a pet is horrible, and I don't wish it on anyone (as inevitable as it is unless you own a parrot or a tortoise or something) but English bulldogs are so fragile and it hurts me to see Quick lose his pooch.
Dude. I'm sorry man.

I love doggo’s. I’ve had several. Currently have a 10 year old black lab that’s snoring next to me.

I’m also in a line of work where if your dog gets aggressive I won’t hesitate to boot it in the head.

That sucks for Quick. Sounds like a spendy ordeal. I mean bulldogs are expensive to begin with and then hospital overnights and stuff. Probably racked up 10’s of thousands trying to keep it alive.

Call me cold, but I don’t believe in veterinarians. As close as I grow to a dog, I just can differentiate that they don’t have the same life expectancy. And I won’t go in any kind of debt for an animal. We’ll try holistic, old wives tales, whatever….

Dog dies we get a new one.
But that’s just the thing. Quick had just gotten a new one.
