Jericho CANCELED!!!!
Apr 23 2007, 3:33 AM EDT
Much as the fate of last year's other great show on ABC 'Invasion', 'Jericho' has met it's untimely demise also. None of the networks care to give time nor effort for shows (exspecially of the sci-fi genre) to build an audience fan base. 'Jericho',as was 'Invasion', a well scripted and wonderfully casted show and deserved a better chance to gain an audience. Today, the studios would rather throw out insane and ludicrous reality shows with no scripts and no good actors because they are cheaper to make. Gone are the days of good television shows were there is a script and a familiar face acting it out. Sci-Fi shows are never given a fair chance...with any luck the Sci-Fi Channel would pick up 'Jericho' for a possible continuation....but bets would be it would be 'Heroes' before 'Jericho' since they already air episodes of 'Heroes. So...face the sad and very disappointing truth.....'Jericho' is Canceled!!!!!

Jericho was cancelled by CBS but after fans of the show responded by sending tons of peanuts to their offices, CBS relented and picked up 7 episodes of the show.

Personally I think it's much deserved. Season One was great and I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that it gets picked up for a whole season.

I watched it religiously. Something about post-apocalyptic society trying to hold itself together is a compelling story. For me, at least.

CBS has to stick with this show, it will succeed.

The show rocked this season. It was late night for me, so I had to DVR it.

Network TV is sucking so hard and getting worse. They really need to take this show to Fox (which is on the rise) or one of the movie channels.

i thought Jericho was good, CBS hasn't done too much wrong lately but this isn't a positive step

I just watched the first episode via Netflix. It was interesting as fuck!

Something about post-apocalyptic society trying to hold itself together is a compelling story.

That makes two of us.

Does season two have a good ending or is it a cliffhanger?

The final episode ties things up as good as they could without a lot of notice.

This show is so addicting. At this point I really can't understand why it was canceled.

I'm pretty much done with season one and I still can't believe they actually canceled this. Maybe it's because the show feels fresh to me, but Jericho is much more interesting than Lost.

Even though attempts to keep the series alive on CBS didn't work out too well for its fans, Jericho could soon be headed to a theater near you.

Two of the show's stars, Ashley Scott and Brad Beyer, have gone on record saying that there is movement toward a movie version of the show, which would pick up on the events that occurred in a small Kansas town following a nuclear blast.

Says Scott, "We caught wind of a possible movie idea, which we thought was really good. I think Brad had heard about it online the other day, and I just heard tonight, and I thought that would be really wonderful, wouldn't it? Kind of put a closing on it."

Beyer echoes Scott's calls for a fitting conclusion to the storyline: "We kind of feel like it needs some closure, because it still feels kind of weird. I mean, we didn't get to a whole second season. ... I think you can do a lot more with it. I think there's a lot of different ways you can go with the story."

Now, CBS brought Jericho back for a kind of mini-season after its first cancellation, but nobody was really happy with the short leash, and if a movie version could end what began so promisingly, I say go for it. The story's readymade. It only needs a bigger, better finish.

Wait until you see the second season. It gets pretty intense.

I love Jericho (big of the Fallout games, so I like the setting), but even though it was great that they made the extra 7 episodes to finish the series off (talk about fan support), it would have been awesome if the show had gotten the opportunity to continue normally. The second season was rushed; I think they could have kept going for several more seasons by expanding the plotline through the conspiracy. I would have loved to see Hawkins & Jake in action some more.

I also heard that they released some Hawkins off-shoot of the series, when he went on missions connected to the bomb, but they were only released in the US and I haven't been able to find them anywhere.
