More influential and important comedian than Robin Williams, IMHO.

Never thought she was funny, but I really respected her as a person. She paved the way for a lot of female comics

I appreciated that should was quick on her feet to make a joke at any second about anyway, including herself. And she could take a joke.

She was great on Fashion Police! That show was hilarious!

I think she was a tremendous comedian.

Incredibly sad. My guess is that it wasn't throat surgery but something cosmetic.

Bottom line, she likely passed away because of vanity. What a shame. She was hilarious.

You should check out some of her early standup. She really was a brilliant comic.

She was like a female Don Rickles. She would insult anyone, and with her there was no line she wouldn't cross.

She was great.

I feel very lucky that I knew Joan Rivers and I feel very sad that she’s gone. She was a great comedian and a wonderful person. I never saw someone attack a stage with so much energy. She was a controlled lightning bolt. She was a prolific and unpredictable, joyful joke writer. She loved comedy. She loved the audience. She was a great actress and should have done that more. She loved living and working. She was kind. She was real. She was brave. She was funny and you just wanted to be around her. I looked up to her. I learned from her. I loved her. I liked her. And I already miss her very much. It really f—ing sucks that she had to die all of a sudden.

I met her a bunch of times, she was just like she was on TV in real life. Moved fast, talked fast, didn't give a fuck. Really nice lady though.

Joan Rivers was a true trailblazer.

Joan Rivers was a true pioneer, and an absolute beast of a comedian.

In a time where so many people are scared to speak their minds, she spoke hers, loud and proud, and most importantly she was unapologetic and extremely funny

YET YOU PERSECUTE PAPA G FOR DOING THE SAME THING

Rickles put himself down. She never did. I agree with Johnny Carson, who couldn't stand her.

As someone who watched her on his show since either 1967 or 68, I forget which, I say, "Good riddens."
