Matt Lauer is the brother of a lady who used to live next door. She had a live in boy friend that was not the nicest guy in the world. I had to break up a fight between him and another neighbor.

Never watch KGW unless there's a basketball game on it.

I only watch KATU for local news 'cause I like Steve Dunn for news and Nate Bynum for sports. I used to like Craig Birnbach for sports but he's gone. However, I don't like Joe English, for obvious reasons, nor do I like Rhonda Shelba, and I don't know why.

I stopped watching the news full stop a couple years ago because it was SO depressing. The only times I watch it is if there's a huge national issue on, or the weather is bad or notable. But Joe was one of the people who made you feel as if he genuinely cared when he spoke about the news. He didn't use over exaggerated terms or dramatic sentences for drama's sake.....he just told you how it was in that calm demeanor of his.

Gonna miss that. He was one of my most admired media figures in Portland.
