Am I missing something? Joe Freeman of the Oregonian says the following about Thomas Robinson . . .

But Robinson would not have been traded three times before his second season — a remarkable journey that has been well documented — if there weren’t alarms.

And later in the article he says it again . . .

After his roller coaster rookie season, the highs of being drafted No. 5 and the lows of being traded three times, Robinson says he is ready and willing to do whatever is necessary to find his place in the NBA.

I thought Robinson was traded twice: first to Houston, and then from Houston to Portland. Where is this third trade I'm missing?

not three times, Shooter; you are correct; it's only been the two times you mentioned. i even checked to see if the Kings had obtained the pick with which they took him via a trade (didn't think so; just being thorough). answer was no. too bad, usually Freeman is the one Oregonian sports reporter whose facts are reliable.

He's been with three teams. He's been traded twice.

Portland is his third team. he's been traded twice. Freeman's article states: "...But Robinson would not have been traded three times before his second season ..."

Um, yes. That's what I said. I was agreeing with Shooter. Gee, for someone who supposedly goes to Stanford, I figured you'd be a little sharper.

Just a brain fart by freeman. Insert goonies line "that's what I said!" By freemand.

yes, and i was agreeing with you and Shooter. perhaps you should not be so quick to judge and insult.

"supposedly?" seriously now. that is just plain sad.

How's that "pre-law" major going?

not sure what that question actually has to do with this thread. perhaps you should stay on topic rather than engaging in personal attacks.

Nah, I think I'll write whatever I wish. Thanks for your concern, though.

Thanks for the advice, everybody. Again, I think I'll post what I like in the manner I prefer.

Yeah, I've always thought that Freeman was pretty good, too, but this is really sloppy reporting. It's especially bad when you consider that Freeman is doing a story on Robinson's rep around the league, and the number of times he's been traded is a crucial part of the story.

This thread is more competitive than that lousy game was!

i would hope it was just an honest slip-up. as a matter of fact, i think it probably was. your'e right though, that is a crucial part of the story.

Freeman just tweeted, Thanks for the advice, everybody. I think I'll write whatever number of Robinson's teams I like in the manner I prefer.

He fixed the story.

"But Robinson would not have been traded twice before his second season..."

Timing coincidence? Or does he read this board? Or does he pay a mole among us? Or does the dumb mole not get paid? Demand a raise, you birdbrain mole!

Uosean fits the profile. Are you here, uosean?
