When trying to justify the decision to go with Drew & Ryan as opposed to Refsnyder Girardi had this to say....

" You look at Stephen Drew & what he's done in June, (battered 230) and July though he hasn't played much his numbers are good." Really Joe? he's 4 for 22 in July (182) & this to you is good? And is currently in a 4 for 33 fall. That's a 121 batting average over that time. Yeah Joe we really need his bat in the lineup.

As far as Brendan Ryan he just said that Ryan has to ability to provide excellent defense at 3 positions.

I can understand Ryan, but Drew has to go... I don't care he he's traded for a bag of useless golf balls.... he has to go... Hell, I'd find better use from a pile of dog crap than Drew... Let Refsnyder play!

...having defensive backups for late inning replacements is understandable when you're leading but

1. you don't need 2 of them

2. when you're behind in the latter inning defense is not as important when you need offensive players that can hit better than .200.

I think there will be a veteran brought in to play second. Trade deadline coming up.

...^^^don't know that it will happen but I still think Zobrist makes a lot of sense on different levels.

You can fail with guys with big league experience, you cannot with unproven players, no matter the situation.. Very few coaches/ gm's have had the balls to go against the grain

...how many of those coaches had a 2Bman hitting .181 at this point in the season?

..."big league experience" has nothing to do with it...Drew, Ryan, and Jones are lucky to be drawing a paycheck at all.

...the only "unproven" player is Drew and replacing him does not take much "balls" at all...it's common sense.

I just don't get you at all, there are many cases where common sense does not apply.

Drew is unproven, did he not win with the sox, you talking about his position?

...and yes, Drew is "unproven" since coming to NY...well, he has at least "proven" that he can't hit his weight (.171) over the course of nearly a full season. (520 ABs)...and exactly what does his anomalous season with the Sox have to do with how he's played since?

...and there are more cases where common sense does makes sense. Can you give a reason why Drew should not be replaced?

...and you "don't get me"?... wtf does that mean?...you think I'm the only one who thinks Drew needs to go?

Drew has been given long enough. He cannot hit outside of the occasional homer.

I don't know who made the decision to send Ref down and keep Drew but I'd guess it came from above Field Level. And I like many others would like to see Drew gone, ditto Ryan & Jones. Can't see them being traded, who wants Cashmans dirty laundry. So its DFA or minors. As far as Girardi goes I've supportd him since game 1 '08, and think he knows his team but I cannot figure some of the statements he makes about player performance. If I were Drew I'd be damned ashamed that I kept failing even though the manager had his back.

At this point you can't get rid of both Drew & Ryan. If you bring Refsnyder back up or even sign someone like Zobrist you're going to need one of the two guys (Drew/Ryan) as a back up.

...not if you bring Refsnyder back AND take on Zobrist or someone like him...and again, Jones' roster spot can be replaced too...I'd rather see what Judge can do.

...not saying any of this will happen, just spit balling. (no Baseball tonight)

I don't like Judge in for Jones because then you don't have a left handed bat off the bench. I think Judge should stay in AAA for the remainder of the year. I think he needs it in terms of his development. He hasn't exactly flashed the power in AAA yet that he did in AA. I like his progress and I don't see any reason to throw him into a pennant race and limit his ABs.

I'd have no problem with either of those scenario's.

I surmise Cashman & Girardi are in the majority when it
comes to baseball's unwritten decision about roster moves.
Some people on this board accept it and cannot understand
why others differ with their blind acceptance.
Questioning Yankee decisions becomes tiresome to these
people. 'Big league experience' is a cliche for years in majors, and has nothing to do with their worth as viable roster players. DEADWOOD
IS just that and these Yankees are carrying a few.

And yet, for some reason, Girardi & Cashman are compelled
to keep informing Yankee fans (or anyone) that Drew, Ryan, Jones
have 'valuable worth'. Really? How foolhardy can they be?

...well, when you're talking about a "left handed bat off the bench" you don't really have one in Jones either...Jones has been mostly platoon vs RHed pitching where he should have an edge but he's just not any good vs RHed pitching either. (.239 .277 .389 .667)
...and don't forget Beltran just got back and he's a switch hitter, as is Zobrist.

...and Judge as well as other will likely be September call ups anyway, so what's the difference?...another 30 games or so?...SWB's season will be over the first week of September so his minor league "development" would stop then anyway. Besides, Judge is a better defender than Jones and I'd think just as good if not better with a bat. Judge has also said time he with the Yanx earlier really helped jim and the advice he was given by Beltran, ARod, and others was invaluable...he may end up being a 1Bman anyway.

...again, I'm bored and I'm not saying all or any of this will happen...like i said, "just spit balling".

Are you also here with the main goal of trying to turn this place into a shitfest again? We moved past all this shit a couple of weeks ago. Why blg and yourself are drumming past crap up again and fanning the flames is beyond me.

Just no one start singing that fucking song from FROZEN......

Just no one start singing that fucking song from FROZEN......
LOL

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation
And it looks like I'm the queen

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried
Don't let them in, don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know
Well, now they know

Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on

The cold never bothered me anyway

It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I'm free

Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You'll never see me cry
Here I stand and here I'll stay
Let the storm rage on...

My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I'm never going back
The past is in the past

Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on!
The cold never bothered me anyway

what is your goal mess, to have 4 posters on here who are all in agreement bout everything at all times?

My goal would be for you to actually post something worth reading.

my posts may not be articulated in a manner for you to understand.

anyway, lets be honest, i don't even post here all year round, but what i do post, ususally comes to fruition, stay thirsty my friends ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Rick, Ron, Rob, Steve, Vic, Cage, Michael, Frank, = 8 regular solid posters. And if you & blg can start getting along with everyone I'd say that's a pretty good group.

Look Pasta, no one is going to get along all the time or be in full agreement all the time. Differences of opinions are good for these types of venue's but there's a way to do it without being offensive & before you say it, that applies to EVERYONE not just you & blg. Both you & BLG have a real love for the game & the Yankees I can see that so your opinions & remarks are welcome, its just that sometimes the delivery sucks.

What I'd like to see is for OT to be kept as OT & for GAME THREADS to be used as GAME THREADS. Going forward I hope things improve because we all want the same thing & that's for the team to do well. On that note.........

GO YANKEES!
