Joel to miss 12/10 game vs Phoenix

I don't mean to sound callous, but perhaps two games missed for his Grandmother-in-law? I've had to barter to go to my own grandmother's funeral in my younger corporate days, and I was making a fraction of what Joel is making.

Precisely, what I was thinking. One game, fine. But way out til next thursdays game too??

No, the thursday game is the day before the Phoenix game. It's game one of a back-to-back.

So definitely out 12/10, possibly out 12/9 as well for the funeral service.

So, they couldn't have the funeral on Saturday if it was that important to Joel? Next game isn't until Sunday.
 
I just saw Joel suited up and on the bench. I guess he's playing then?

edit - today isn't December 10th
 
I lost all of my own grandparents and one parent before I turned 30. I guess I'm just hardened a bit toward losses like these. I wish nothing but the best toward Joel and his family. If he needs to miss two games, I guess I shouldn't judge.

Guess so. But then again, I walked it back. I'm hardened to bad news, I suppose. Was the "douchebag" part necessary, considering I backtracked? Or, did you not make it that far?

I had to miss a grandfather's funeral because I was poor and in college, and accepting money for a flight would have been an NCAA violation. What's your glitch, RR7?

I didn't bring it up, and I backtracked my earlier post. RR7 clearly has an issue with me and my kid.

Agreed. I've held 2 funerals for my parents, and gone to others. Every time, you ask the major people who will attend, what's the best day for you? A funeral can be up to 2 weeks after the death.

Someone who makes a hundred thou per game, the day he wants, he gets. Had he tried, he wouldn't have possibly cost us a couple of wins. Even if they couldn't schedule it for him, then he skips the funeral. This isn't a minimum wage job.

I feel the same about someone signing up for international summer play, then missing it because they just had to get married that very month.

And grandmother-in-law? This is a joke. Get to your job, bum!!

The bukkake olympics is not an NCAA sport.

I think PapaG used to tell people he played a sport in college.
 
We didn't need Joel vs Phoenix since Camby was doing a good job with 18 rebounds!
I just want Joel back against the hot Spurs on Sunday !
 
Joel needs to return....... Camby looked FUCKING beat after the game!
 
I was watching comcast hD at and least they didn't throw ice on his (Camby's) knees right away. They just threw a towel on him. I still think we need to resign Camby and Joel for a 2 year contract or something. Centers are hard to find in this league these days.
