One thing I will say is he's the only Laker who showed any concern over Rudy on the malicious foul by Trevor Ariza. While Ariza was strutting around trying to act tough and his teammates were backing him, Farmar is the only player in purple and yellow who showed genuine concern over Rudy's well-being.

On a team full of classless jerk-offs, at least one guy deserves some credit for being a stand-up individual in an otherwise disgusting situation.

Man, you're on fire today. I give a ton of credit to Farmar because he did three things:

1. He immediately went to check on Rudy. He didn't try to join the melee, he checked on the opponent.

2. He called the officials and the Blazers' medical staff over to check on Rudy. He saw it was serious and got their attention.

3. Only after others were attending to Rudy did he try to get between his teammates and the Blazers. And he did it to diffuse the situation, not to inflame it.

I thought the LA players (minus Ariza and Odom) looked just as concerned as the Portland players. Pau looked like he was about to cry and Kobe was visibly upset.

I just don't think anyone (including our players) but Farmar realized right away that Rudy wasn't getting up. Other than Ariza and Odom, it looked like most of the Lakers were trying to get everyone calmed down once they realized what was going on. None of them tried to escalate the fight and nobody was celebrating.

Gasol also seemed to really care about Rudy, although he did not go over to help (but then again neither did Roy or any Blazer). From the Lakers, I was very pleased with Farmar and respect the man, and Gasol I have no beef with (I never did even though so many here hate the guy). Every other Laker sucks the big fat Portland dick!

A few people have mentioned "going over to help." What can a player do to help a player who is hurt badly enough that he can't/doesn't want to move? It's much better to leave it to the medical staff, especially if the player needs his neck/back immobilized.

Was Gasol even in the game when it happened? I can't remember for sure, but I seem to recall him being on the sideline, so going over to check on Rudy would have been seen as leaving the bench.

Farmar's been awful off the bench this year so he has to make up for his lack of production/ability/effort somehow.

Can we talk about why it took the medical staff so long to get over to Rudy?

And also.... even though it was clear he had movement in all extremities... why the medical staff did such a poor job of getting the board under him? If that was a serious spinal/neck injury, more damage would've been done than good there. They needed to take a deep breath and calm down... communicate with each other who's got what part of the body... and rotate the body and slide on the board under as one movement instead of three jerky separate ones.

Gasol was in the game at the time. Correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure he never went back into the game after that.
