Don't know if anybody watched the Laker game last night, but Josh had a career night. You all know I'm jokin', but it was good to see him play well. Hope he gets a triple double, but we win! He's a real cool guy!

Yes, great trade, as JB will better than any of them. Can you say "Pritchslap".

I will assume that you are not one of the fans that favor "consolidation"

oh no i love consolidation trades....for good players

I had SportCenter on last night and I didn't hear any highlights but then when they put up the top scorers from the game I saw his name and almost fell out of my chair...

Yea because you know, young players might not take a while to show their stuff. Might as well give up on them after a week. :ohno:

abm.... shhhhh its been working

Is that kind of in the same realm as every time I post a smart ass prediction of the Blazers getting killed by like 25+ in the prediction thread they play well and win? :devilwink:

He had a PER over 20 with the Blazers. Better than Oden, so he must have had more upside!

He's currently no better than Rush, and it looks doubtful that he'll ever be as good as JJ already is.

He's certainly regressed from his streaky but promising rookie season.

It may be years and several more tries before we find our PG of the future. He's not on our current roster.

I'd post about McBob, but mere words are not enough.

Data shows you are very wrong about it. See attached.

You are certainly confused. He basically doubled his PER.

It may be years and several more tries before we find our PG of the future. He's not on our current roster.

You might have a point there - but this means nothing in the context of this discussion - because Jack, McBob and Rush are not the PG of the future either - so it is not relevant.

At the end of the day, this trade got us a guy that is now about as good as Jack (more explosive, but not as consistent, not a problem given that he basically played only about the same amount of minutes so far in his career that Jack played in his rookie season) but is much younger and with a much higher ceiling, add the fact that McBob and Rush are nothing exciting - and this was a fantastic trade for Portland.

Saw attached. Proved me right.

Jack is better in every statistical category except the meaningless and abstract per.

Hilarious that you call him "best pure scorer" when his shooting percentages are horrendously weak, about the worst a Blazer has ever had.

He only manages to score 4 pts more than Jack by burning 6+ more attempts to draw fouls. Do the math, it ain't pretty.

BTW, the only reason he shoots more FT's than Jarrett is because Jarrett shoots FT's after makes while Jerryd usually shoots 2 because he missed the FG.

PER is not meaningless nor abstract. It is exactly what you say above - all the categories combined together and normalized for minutes and pace. It actually proves the exact opposite of what you say, but, we already knew that...

Maris, Maris, Maris, you are slipping.

JB's .535 TS% is better than Sergio's TS% in any year as a Blazer (or overall, this year, his best, is still lower than JB's .535). Even without look at other Blazers players, that makes him at worst 4th worst... (Sergio had 3 years with us).

Oh, what the hell, let's look at TS% this year. The following Blazers or past Blazers that have worse TS% than JB this year while playing for Portland (JB definitely needs to work on his TS% - but he is not even close to that bad) :

Miller, Blake, Dante, Outlaw and Camby, I am leaving out the small sample guys like Mills and S-Bo.

You can do better Maris. Try harder next time.

Sometimes you just have to cut the dead weight. Pacers sure robbed us from that trade and have become a better team because of it

Was anyone else surprised at his hops on that dunk last night? He got up quick and put it down strong.

I'll always cheer for McRoberts. He was a good soldier here, played the role of GO's BFF well and got us a player of value. Rush sucked eggs last night, Jack is making the MLE and still playing at a below average level for TOR and McRoberts is having a tough time getting off the bench on a woeful Pacers team. Meanwhile, Bayless has single handedly won at least four games for us this season.

When you have the kind of depth we do, I'll happily trade three below average players for one player with upside.

pacers are gonna kill us. blowout.

Well, he got the last part right.

If I had the energy and inclination, putting together a "MIXUM's Greatest Hits" (maybe the "s" should be moved to the other end of "Hits") for the season would be interesting. So wrong so often.

No. McRoberts has always been known as a big time athlete. I think he came in second to Gerald Green in the McDonalds All-American dunk contest.
