They simply cannot lose this one.

They can't? Get a load of this lineup.............

LF - Gardner (283)
SS - Jeter (276)
C- McCann (220)
DH - Beltran (216)
1B - Johnson (224)
RF - Soriano (225)
CF - Suzuki (291)
2B - Roberts (232)
3B- Solarte (265)

If this is Girardi giving us the best chance to win we're in deep shit. This lineup would have trouble beating the 1964 Mets.

I saw Tex had fluid drained from his knee and was going to be out today...

Chronic something is always wrong Tex is out so what else do they have to put out there? If Beltran and McCann did their job things would be much different.

And what about Ellsbury? Hell if its about some rest I'd rather see Ells get a half day at DH & rest Carlos (sure out) Beltran for the day.

3,4 & 5 hitters with a combined average of 221. Just unbelievable. Middle of the lineup production my ass. Maybe I have been a little hard on Girardi considering the non production of his players. But....just a little.

I did try warning people. Especially when you knew Solarte was going to come back down to earth at some point. Nobody has risen up so you have a very sorry lineup right now ruining a lot of quality starts.

Thank you Michael Kay. My thoughts EXACTLY.

Michael Kay is enough to make you want to start punching even yourself.

It's unreal how Soriano went from going on an absolute tear after the Yankees got him last year to being a complete disgrace at the plate this year.

Oh I'll admit that when he gets on one of his soap boxes he never lets go. But in the case of benching Ellsbury today he's absolutely right. And his examples why were on target.

...Kay doesn't have any more idea why Ellsbury is not starting than we do.

...Roberts, yet again swinging at a ball high in the zone and weakly popping out.

Good to see McCann now not catching balls.

...that could just as easily have been ruled a WP...McCann was set up WAY inside but the pitch was a 1/2 a foot off the outside corner. Was the ball catchable?...yes, but it was not all on McCann.

...besides, he just gave you the lead back. :ghoti:

Beltran has pushed his average to .223. Thank God Michael.

...he also said he "was tired".

To which the blow-hard Kay said, "He's 30 years old, I'm sure Gehrig & Ripkin got tired a few times also". Hey I'm no fan of Kay but it was an excellent point. I mean the Yankees need all the production in the lineup they can get right now.

Anyway McCann just popped one so, so far so good.

...they also need to make sure players are not completely worn out come September...like I said, he'd played in 80 of 82 games...it's a stifling hot day...maybe the guy is gassed. Fuck Kay and his nostalgic comparison to Lou Gehrig Day and Gehrig's endurance...this ain't the 19 fucking 30's.

...fucking Soriano...how many plays is he gonna butcher in RF?

Ellsbury played 145 games in 2008, 153 in 2009, 18 in 2010, 158 in 2011, 74 in 2012 and 134 in 2013.

...looking at 2 brutal OF collisions would make sense.

And missed 30 games last year. There's a lot or wear and tear on him so my point is you're going to expect him to get days off. Stop making it a dumb argument when there isn't one.
