Buehrle 10-3 2.28ERA VS WHITLEY 2-0 2.41ERA

Tonight's trivia question. The two players who have hit 25 homers for both Toronto and the New York Yankees. Jessie Barfield and Dave Winfield.

Barfield I got & I thought the other one might be Canseco because I really don't remember what he did with the Yankees.

McCann with the two run homer into the short porch. Makes it 3-2 Yankees.

I knew Barfield right away because my brother and I used to get amusement out of his constant strikeouts on the same outside pitch. I had to think a little bit but then Winfield then came to mind.

Been pulling for Big Mac to come through, he's got to be feeling pretty good. Set the pace Chase, keep 'em in check!

I loved the reaction from Long after McCann's home run, like he had something to do with it.

1st walk he's given up in 33 innings & that dick Girardi makes a call to the bullpen. Give the kid a chance Joe. Holy shit.

Whitley gets through five innings with the lead. Hopefully the pen can hold it for him.

I'm glad Mr. Baseball let the kid get the last out in the 5th so he has a chance for the win. Now I'd like to see our putrid offense get some insurance runs. And yeah Vic the pen needs to step up & hold it.

Jeter has really looked like shit tonight. Caps the 0-4 night off with a little pop up bunt.

McCann, coming through like a big choo choo. Somehow I thought he'd start coming around during the home stand.

Those hits falling in is what McCann needed. Earlier in the year the outfielder would've made a sliding catch.

Betances is just absurd. He has like 70 strikeouts already as a reliever.

The Yankees win. Whitley goes to 3-0 and McCann leads the way with a five RBI night.

...rather than guessing how about you enlighten me.

...the kid was not even supposed to be a starter this year and was forced into the role because of injuries to 3 of the starters. He had 2 bad outings as a starter and in his other 6 starts he allowed 0, 0 ,1, 2, ,3 and 4 runs.

...damnit Jeter...pitcher on the ropes after walking Gardner to reload the bases...3 pitches, none in the strike zone, swung at all 3.

...nice strategy Capt.
