Defending champion Jurgen Melzer beat Nicolas Almagro 6-4, 6-4 Saturday to reach the final of the Bank Austria Tennis Trophy.
The 12th-ranked Melzer, who has only won two of his nine career finals, will play either fellow Austrian Andreas Haider-Maurer or Michael Berrer of Germany.
