At my first desk job when I was 25 at lunch time I would go to the nearby convenience store and bring back Twinkies to eat in my office. The secretaries were aghast. They were into sprouts and raw broccoli. They decided I was too young for the job, so the boss thought that way too.

I learned a lot and after that job I never had office politics problems in any future jobs. Twinkies taught me a lot about how to handle clerks and I am forever grateful.

I'm not cool because I don't think up gay food icons to gawk at, but I vaguely remember Hostess really made those for a short time. Even if not, they have always been made by home cooks, like for kids' birthday parties, using angelcake or sponge cake or something else sweet. Related: House of Pancakes had a pancake wrapped around a hot dog and maybe still does. You put syrup on it and it was good.

I take that back. I'm pretty cool. I always dance around as I walk, snapping my fingers.

When I was in reform school we had a nightly snack, and on Fridays it was candy/sweets products. There was a vegetarian in our group and she would often times on these days get a twinkie. One day she decided to read the ingredients list and found out there is animal fat inside twinkies. I felt bad for her, but her reaction was priceless. Alas, on future Fridays she scorned her once beloved Twinkies.
