this was probably the most embarrassing time in my life, athletically. I was so pumped about finally getting to play basketball again. I haven't played competively since high school, about 2 or 3 years ago. first off one guy on myteam comes up to me and says "I'm gonna have to keep passing you the ball". I wasn't sure what he actually meant. he was pretty big and looked liked a good player. then I saw him shoot............. it was so bad, I honestly can not describe it for you to fully understand how bad this guy was at shooting and as a basketball in general. the first pass to him goes right through his hands. next play he somehow caught it then actually took 3 steps without dribbling. one time I dribbled on the baseline and saw a guy wide open for a three and then after I released the ball I see it's that douchebag. I really don't know why this guy wasted $110 for a basketball league and not know ANYTHING about the game at all. when he took 3 steps the ref had to actually tell him "you have to dribble the ball". besides me and these 2 black dudes, no one understood how to play basketball. the thing that made it worse was the fact that the other team played a 2-3 zone and anyone that has played ball before knows you can't beat a zone unless you attack it, hit a shot from the outside or actually have some movement without the ball. it was unbelievable me or this other dude would bring the ball up and it was like 2 on 5. not one guy would move. guys just standing around and I'm a competitive guy and it was really getting frustrating. these guys sucked. on every miss the other team would run back on a fast break and automatically it's a 3 on 1 fast break. one guy had good position on the block and as soon as I passed it he just lets the guy steal it. it started out 13-0 until I hit a 3 to finally get on the board. the final score was 75-25. so embarassing, I've never been on a team that was this bad. I know it's only a rec league but you would think if you sign up for a basketball league you would have an idea of how to play. you gotta make cuts, not stand around. I'm not the greatest player but I know how to play basketball. I had 8 points, not that much but when your team doesn't help you out at all that's not bad.I know no one probably cares but I really just had to get this off my chest. I love basketball and this just really got me pissed.

well the guy said we're not gonna be playing teams like that again. I personally didn't think they were that much above my level of play but my team is just awful. I really don't want to be playing against people that suck like my mates but that looks like that's how it's gonna be. I'm the kind of player that needs good players around in order to be effective. I can't take over games but I guess that's what I'm gonna do.

Just do what I do if your team sucks. Hang around down low and get the offensive boards and go back up. I get 70% of my points like that.

I will do that for sure. I'm just a little out of shape so I was too tired to chase offensive rebounds. first time playin real ball in a long time. next game should be a little better, I hope.

Tell all your teammates to get into the key and drive. Either go up for a layup and miss and maybe theyll get the rebound and give it back to u. or u can just pass it because theyd all be in there lol

LMFAO.My friend and I are the only high school basketball players in my gym class, and there are a bunch of kids who think they know how to play but have no idea, so my friend and and I play 2 on 5 and win by 25-30, and we don't call traveling or anything because we feel bad..I know how it is, it's tough, but try to be nice to the dude and help him out a bit and explain it to him.

hahaa thats kind of how my league is too. its just a random house league and the dudes we play are all like 30+ years old and a few 40+ dudes. some of the games, it seems like they have no clue what they are doing and cant even dribble the ball up court. we beat the team 69-30something tonight. we got out to like a 15-0 start but then thye hit a layup. I was getting out on the break like a mad man that game

dam man dat must suck bein in a team like dat. sumthn similar happened 2 me but I wasnt on a team, just visitin the rec centre. dese guyz were lyk in dea 20s and they got killd by us coz none of em would shoot and just pass, most o the time without dribblin at all.
