I don't know if the lockout dimmed my enthusiasm or if it is due to conflicts with the time of the year but I'm still kind-of "meh" regarding the season right now. I usually have a ton of excitement leading up to camp/pre-season but right now I'm just not feeling it.

I'm sure once actual basketball starts happening and we get REAL reports on how people are doing, that will change.

Considering there are only two games in the pre-season, I'm not planning on doing a pre-season predictions game. The regular predictions game will definitely be on. :-)

Gramps...

I thought this thread was started by Mrs. BeerBoy and it was about her sex life!

I'm with you, Gramps. I was almost disappointed that the lockout ended. Was ready for a year without the Blazers and the emotional heartache of watching them strive for mediocrity and flashes of brilliance marred by soul-crushing injuries and small-market journalistic bitch-fighting.

I'm glad the season is back but taking a close look at this roster has definitely numbed my excitement.

It's unbalanced and the management yet again appear to be clueless. For the past decade+ they focused on upgrading every position except the most important one on the floor: PG!

Though, maybe LMA will take his game to another level and hopefully Batum can be more assertive like he showed in FIBA play.

And for your info old man...... as soon as the first ball is tipped off you will be as excited about the game as ever!

Yeah I agree, I had moved on from the NBA this year, was happy to have a break. Also pissed at both greedy sides and wanted to see them have some pain so they realized just how good they both used to have it.

The whole Roy/Oden injuries over the last two years is pretty damn depressing. If if if if..... I seriously expected us to be a contender by now when we won the 2007 lottery and I expected this roster to win multiple championships in the next decade. Now I feel that is more of a pipe dream. The elite players will always want to play in NY/LA/Miami/Dallas areas so regardless of new CBA changes the odds are against us having titles in my lifetime. Yes I'm only 30.

It's early yet. They have not even reported to camp. And the conversation on the message boards can't help but get you a little down. It's like seeing the Dow go up and then turning on Fox News. You get deflated quickly.

I can't deny the fact that I am not quite pumped up as usual, but in the end it will come down to how they look on the court.

I just don't understand some of you guys! I am a fan of the game of basketball! I'm pumped to watch a Warriors vs Kings preseason game!!!

Its because we're all such big fans of you and now that your going to be busy doing actual work you won't be able to post here 200 times a day!

I wasn't feelin' it until they interviewed LMA at the practice facility. He just looked so good and he's consistently come back after every off season even better. I'm excited to see what he's added to his bag 'o tricks.

This is going to be a weird year for the whole league and my gut tells me this is probably going to be something of "transition" year for the Blazers -- with a lot of moving parts and nothing to do but sit back and hope for the best.

Should be "interesting" if nothing else.

Thread title reminded me of......

I'm not feeling it, either. I have been intending to write a "Top 10 Reasons I'm Not Excited About This Season" thread, but I've lacked motivation...

Oregon Ducks recruiting is more exciting to me at this point. Maybe/hopefully that will change as the NBA season starts.

Ed O.

Oddly enough

The Blazers saying they're going to keep Roy has upped my spirits a little bit. Not that it wouldn't have been a smart decision to let him go, but overall it's a crappy situation and waiting for Roy to get cut just felt weird. Just a crappy thing to have to do.

The start of training camp on Friday has helped as well. I'm ready and will be watching every video on olive.

Anytime Oden comes back I get extremely excited. Now having a G-Wall in the lineup I can't help but think were gonna beast some teams this year.

I'm jacked up! I think the lockout has afforded us a chance to advance deep in the playoffs! I realize many don't agree with me, but I think we have something special happening this season. We'll see how it plays out.

It'll be a long time before Greg gets back into the flow of things, he's been out since 2009, our center position SUCKS!

C: Marcus Camby | Chris Johnson | Greg Oden

The looming sale of the team, Greg Oden unrestricted free-agency, below average starting PG -- it's going to be a long season.

Well stated. I could have used a year off from all this but no doubt will get sucked into it once the games start.

im not gonna even watch all of the preseason games this year, im all like, meh

As of today we have one borderline franchise player (LMA) and 13 role players.

Might as well not even watch the games then

There are some miserable people on this board

Probably won't, at least at first.

Not really, just sick and tired of rooting for a team that seems to go nowhere in a league system that seems like its stacked against them
.

100% of the blame goes on Paul Allen and Larry Miller.

So if the Blazers were a true contender, you'd be more interested?

Hmmm.....

So far my apathy has more to do with not being all that fanatical about any of the current players.

I mean, they're nice guys and all, and some of them are very talented but...they're pretty humdrum in the personality department.

Other than Patty Mills, this squad has no entertainers.

I'm more excited that Fantasy Basketball is on than the NBA.
