It’s shame another high draft pick got wasted.

Because Drury doesn’t know how to do ANYTHING when it comes to formulating a team. He’s literally beyond incompetent. He truly might be the worst GM in ALL of sports, and that includes the Browns GM that gave a guaranteed contract to Deshaun Watson.I heard Borgen sucks. He could’ve packaged Kakko in a better deal at TDL. What was the rush in trading him. His first priority should be trading away fat cats and not young players.
Yea but can they succeed playing 10 minutes a game with literally no effective system in the offensive or defensive zone? If not, which honestly no player could be successful in that situation, then keep them where they are. Don’t let this coaching staff poison their young talent.I’m not worried about Othmann. He plays the game like Cuylle. Sykora plays it like Berard from the reports.
Drury will be gone after this season. Watch. When we don’t make the playoffs and the Rangers are losing fans and free agents don’t want to sign here because players are going to bad mouth him behind the scenes, Dolan will have no choice. The worst thing that happened to this team is that we sucked for only a season after the “memo” to fans those years back. We “rebuilt” too quickly and that made Dolan want to force a rebuild quickly instead of letting it happen naturally over a few seasons. Now we are seeing the poisoned fruit from that tree. Spoiled, overpaid players, an incompetent GM, terrible coaching hires, coaching staff who have been here for years that are leaving the team (Benoit and Jim Ramsay). This all screams that there is something rotten in the state of Denmark friends. You’re also dreaming you think Drury is getting fired. Obviously Dolan told him you’re safe. Get rid of these fucking idiot players.
Can't wait to see the :15 Kakko tribute video of all of his highlights during his time with the Rangers when whatever team his is on next year plays at the Garden. I cannot think of a single impactful goal he scored in his 6 seasons with the team. He'll be out of the league by the end of the 26-27 season.
I have NO DOUBT that will be the case.Probably will be playing in Europe.
Acquire as many picks as possible and try and move up for an extra 1st at the draft. Start drafting C.
I think a lot of things are true here:
1. Drury is awful at his job, that isn't changing, he is who he is. I have zero faith he can reboot the Rangers the right way, and quickly for next season.
2. The Rangers sold low on Kakko, but after the scratch the other night, and the comments that followed, it was inevitable he was getting traded quickly.
3. While the return was low, it is about right given what Kakko has actually accomplished. Despite what some think, he was given chances, and never stepped up, that's just the truth. He seems like a solid 3rd line forward who can score 15 goals and maybe 35-40 points. There is value in that for sure, but not to the level of the # 2 pick, and thus he'd always be weighed down by and never meet expectations here. He needed a change of scenery to allow him to be that solid 3rd liner without # 2 pick expectations.
4. At least they got two picks back, and since Borgen is a UFA after this season, I fully expect he'll get dealt for at least one more pick. So, they essentially turned Kakko into 3 picks, which this team needs to reboot for next season and beyond as this season is 100% over.
