Trail Blazers fans will soon be able to represent their team everywhere they drive. Gov. Kate Brown is set to host a bill signing on Wednesday for HB 2730, creating a new Blazers vanity license plate.

The Blazers' pinwheel, which will cost $40, joins salmon, bicycles, Crater Lake and wine country on the list of 39 possible bumper logos for Oregonians.

"It's one of the things that can unite the whole state," the bill's chief sponsor, Rep. Tobias Read, D-Beaverton, said of the Blazers plates in June.

Despite the 39 possible specialized license plates, by law the state was only allowed to offer four plates at a time. HB 2730 repeals those limits, adding the Blazers plates along with breast cancer awareness plates managed by the Oregon Health Authority.

The bill forbids political and religious messages and limits new applicants for plates to nonprofits, public universities, and government agencies.

In 2014, vanity plates garnered over $2 million with the blue-and-yellow "Pacific Wonderland" plates earning $577,500 for the Oregon State Capitol Foundation and the Oregon Historical Society.

Blazers spokesman Michael Lewellan told The Oregonian/OregonLive.com in June that the team had begun some preliminary design work, but that a final plate would need approval from both the Oregon Department of Transportation and the Oregon State Police.

Schonz has to be the one who markets them, showing off his "Rip City" plate.

You know HCP would go with "NEP ZERS"
