Leinster fullback Rob Kearney has inked a new two-year deal with his home province and the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU).

The 24-year-old has been sidelined since November due to a knee injury suffered in Ireland's 38-18 loss to New Zealand in Dublin, but joins Leinster team-mates Brian O'Driscoll and Jamie Heaslip in re-signing.

"We're delighted that Rob has agreed a new deal with Leinster and Ireland and we look forward to welcoming him back to the fold over the coming weeks," Leinster boss Joe Schmidt said.

"Rob has played an important role in the province's recent success and I know how proud he is to represent his home province."
