Kei Nishikori defeats Marin Cilic

Two-time defending champion Marin Cilic lost to Kei Nishikori of Japan 4-6, 7-6 (0), 6-2 in the first round of the Chennai Open.

The second-seeded Cilic broke his opponent in the fifth game Monday to win the opening set. Nishikori turned the match around with a decisive win in the second-set tiebreaker and cruised in the third set.
