At least I assume so, since he wore a Blazer hat at our Superbowl party. Played for Eastern Washington in college.

For those that don't know, Bourne is a rookie WR, #84, with the 49ers. He was an UDFA who was signed in May of 2017. Didn't have a huge season, only 16 receptions and 257 yards, but he had a couple of good plays here and there, including a huge play against the Titans.

He's a nice guy! Loved meeting the club members and fans, and signed tons of autographs and pictures. My father had his hat and a picture signed, and I got my membership badge signed (not pictured here). Unfortunately, I didn't get an opportunity to ask him how long he had been a Blazer fan, or if he was just repping the city because he was in town.

What a fun night. The guy in the red jersey on the left bought a 2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster yesterday, and we had a blast going to the party in it. That V8 sounds BEAUTIFUL!

Hope ya'all had a good Sunday! Glad the Patriots lost, and I hope Chris Collinsworth hanged himself because of it.

Very cool!

Not you, Bourne and your dad are cool.

See @HCP, this is how you brag. Notice the picture? Nice and sharp, you can tell who is in the picture. Not like the blurry pictures you try to brag about.

I swear. There are as many Niners fans in the NW as Seahawks fans. Must drive Seattle fans crazy. (Which is great BTW.)

There were two people there that showed up in full Seahawk gear. I swear to fuck they are the biggest trolls in the whole league, bar none. If it's not trolling other teams' fans online in comment sections or whatever have you, it's this crap.

The 1-2 Man ain't winning 9 games next year. No O-Line, no Chancellor, no Avril, no Bennett, Sherman recovering from a torn Achilles, no Graham, Thomas wants out......etc etc.......

Back in to the basement of mediocrity where they belong.

Go Niners. Jimmy G will take us to the promise land, just need to add a couple pieces this offseason and we’re cooking with gas.

Amen. All hail thy name of Jimmy Gsus. That man is amazing.

With our cap, we should be able to find him some good players and a good pass rusher. I want to draft Chubb, but I don't know if he'll be there by the time our number is called. I hope Lynch doesn't screw it up! Sign the man and find him some elite players to pass to. Garcon is good, but he's 32; he's not our future at WR. And Goodwin has 5 concussions.

There's a lot of talk about picking up Allen Robinson this off-season in free agency. Because THAT is what we need.....a guy recovering from an ACL injury. Where have we 9er fans seen THAT before.......Trent Baalke.........

I'm glad to see that John Lynch is doing such a good job as GM of the Niners. Man, I loved to watch that guy play. He was one of the greatest hitters I have ever seen. Just knocked people into next century.

Niners fans are all over Portland. I was a Niners fan before the Seahawks were around. Never liked Seattle and never liked the Sonics. So liking the Seahawks or Huskies for that matter was out of the question.
Go Niners!

He is a Portland guy...played at Milwaukie HS.

I think I saw 2 Seahawk fans here ten years ago when no one cared about them, it's slightly more now. It's mostly Niner and Raider fans, I wonder how the Raiders move will affect that.

Considering the Seahawks never really had a history of success (or even much relevance) until recently, it's not surprising that the 49ers likely built a following in the Pacific Northwest during the '80s and '90s. Especially considering they weren't division or even conference rivals at the time.

Looks like you and a twitter friend of mine were at the same party.

Actually, the following was started in the 60’s and 70’s when the closest NFL (and MLB) teams to Portland in terms of proximity were the Bay Area teams. Old habits die hard. Go (SF) Giants!!

I think their going to try and draft a WR and play him along side Goodwin for a year until a player hits the market that could make a difference.

Showing up the line and adding a lockdown CB should be the focus of the offseason. Staley won’t be around long.

The Cowboys became the Cowboys in Oregon. First ever training camp was held at Pacific University.

So the Cowboys have more ties to Oregon than the Seahawks or 49ers.

It would be nice if there was an annual preseason game between the Seahawks and 49ers in Oregon every year.

Make it like the Cascadia Cup in soccer, call it the Oregon Cup. It would mean nothing but at least puts Oregon in the NFL conversation once a year.

Sorry. The Cowboys are as far from being anything Oregon as any team possibly could be. We don't even honor their Players credit cards here. We don't serve their type and we certainly don't want their business. Cowboys=Lakers=Yankees

Need i say more? I can if you would like....;-)

Yeah, bandwagoners!

Jacob Wilson....I assume that's his name? Doesn't ring a bell....but my father might know him, perhaps. He's way more involved in our 49er Club than I am.

Good post. I like what we have with Ahkello Witherspoon, the Corner we drafted last year. That dude is gonna be elite for sure. If we could draft another Corner (Johnson must go!), and maybe a pass rusher, that would be awesome. Or move Jimmie Ward back to Corner; he did alright there, but he can't stay healthy.

I'm gonna miss Staley when he retires. I hope he makes it into the HOF. Hopefully Trent Brown heals well from his recent shoulder surgery, and steps up his development. And we need Joshua Garnett to not be a bust. Please God, don't be a bust Josh.

Yeah, bandwagoners!

You do realize the Bay Area teams were the closest teams to Portland for both baseball and football until the late-70’s, right? That means for many, like my dad’s generation, they grew up rooting for Bay Area teams. Then, their kids came up rooting for the same Bay Area teams, one, because it’s common to follow the teams of your parents and, two, the Seattle teams suck.

Garnett sure looks like a bust up to this point, even when healthy I wasn’t very impressed. I do know that I trust Lynch a hundred times more than I ever trusted Baalke. Thank god that dudes gone. There’s a lot of potential on the defense, I REALLLY like Foster when he’s healthy. He could be as good as Willis.

Definitely agree that Baalke was horrible. Yeah, thank God that dude is gone!

I'm kind of on the fence with our Defense. I have never been sold on Armstead; I thought he was a 4th rounder, not a 1st. And he's shown me nothing to make me think otherwise. I think we should trade him to another team and draft Chubb. Him and Buckner would tear shit up.

Also wasn't impressed with Thomas. I thought he was worth a 2nd or 3rd round pick. He's too small to play interior, and he's too slow to play on the outside. Just my opinion.

Foster.....if he can stay healthy and "stay OOOOOFFFF the WEEEEEEED", then yeah: he'll be an All-Pro for sure. He could definitely benefit from having Willis there to mentor him; both on the field and off. I wonder if the coaching staff would be up to having Willis coach up our Linebackers and mentor Foster? That would be fucking awesome.

Band. Wagon.

That's my take. Bandwaggoners my dad's age gravitated to DAL and PIT. Bandwaggoners my age went with the 49ers. Bandwaggoners my younger cousins' age went with Green Bay and New England. Bandwaggoners in SEA got lucky with the last decade of the Seahawks, such that people who didn't know that Jim Zorn was a QB before a fired coach now wear a 12th man jersey and think they're the shit b/c they're popping $12 Pyramids watching one of the best defenses of all time.

I don't hate the Niners. I really liked watching Joe Montana and Jerry Rice (even when I was a kid living in CA, I still liked the Seahawks, but we got 49er games so I watched them a lot. And they were pretty damn good). It sickened me when Navarro Bowman got crunched in the NFC Championship game.

If you go way back, you can find the NY Giants did preseason training in Oregon. Salem as I recall.

Was this true even in the days of Mel Renfro and Bob Lilly? Both Cowboy stars from Oregon.
