when we beat quality teams where the entire team plays well.

these last 2 wins are FOOLS GOLD against lousy teams that made us work for the wins. and then theres our bench that looks like they couldnt handle a dleague teams backups. wait till we play dallas, LA, and OKC... then you will realize how bad our bench has played.

It never fucking ends does it?

Is MIXUM still a moron when hes right after Rudy leaves after this season?

Is a broken clock still broken after the one out of the 2 times a day when it is right?

Does the clock, in an NBA game that is, stop after a foul?

It's a world full of wonder out there, I tell ya.

Full. Of. Wonder.

Is that even possible? Is there a buy-out clause from another team in an NBA contract. I ask because I don't know. I've never heard of it happening.

I can't remember for sure, but didn't the Grizzlies do something like this for JC Navarro?

In any case, my suggestion was that if Rudy wants to leave and go back to Europe, then there are contractual issues that have to be resolved in order for that to happen. If NBA teams have to contribute money to a player's buyout to get them out of their European deal it only stands to reason that it could go the other way too.

That's funny, didn't we just beat OKC and Dallas a few weeks ago.

Do you want to do another "no way we're winning" tomorrow, prediction?

The Grizz offered Navarro a QO, making him an RFA. Navarro declined an RFA offer, and off he was to Europe. The Grizz renounced their QO to him last year in order to get Iverson, meaning they no longer hold his NBA rights. I don't think Real Madrid can simply buy out Portland's contract with Rudy, unless there is something in the CBA that I don't know about regarding FIFA rules.

I didn't need Jaynes, Eggers or shit stain Mixum to tell me that Rudy has quit. I saw it in him last night vs the Clippers. I'm afraid he's going to force our hand to deal him (by playing like shit), which makes him a grade "A" pussy Euro.

He can't force our hand. If he quits, we bury him on the bench and let him sit and spin at $1.7 for the next two years. If he does want out of here, he'll have to play so well to raise his value. I don't buy this "Rudy has quit" narrative, however. Just two weeks ago, he was playing the best ball he ever had in the NBA.

No, you are a moron for constantly quoting and linking articles by people who have no clue. Ironic isn't it.

Stop.

Jaynes is clueless. Quick/Canzano are clueless. Eggers has long been one of the best in the NW. The Goryonion Sports Desk has been in sharp decline ever since he left. :tsktsk:

Blah blah blah kpee blah blah fool's gold blah blah lmao!

Kpee blah blah koolaid homers rose-colored glasses blah blah Rudy.

SORRY BUT ITS TEH TRUTH

What's he making per year?
It doesn't really matter as European clubs and the NBA honor the validity of each others contracts. Portland has a team option following this season at 1.2M which would put them on the hook for the following year at 2.2M. With his upside at this cheap rate why would/should they let him walk?

Various media reports leave this out of their reports as they want to stir up fan interest and sell papers. I don't blame them as it's just business but that shouldn't prevent fans from understanding whats truly what... Rudy isn't going anywhere

STOMP

History only lasts for a week on this board. Anything farther back is the long forgotten past.

Which begs the question as to *why* this has happened. Is the team concealing the fact that his back is in really bad shape?

Then again, Eggers could also be right.....

Or, Rudy is just playing like shit right now, which seems the most likely answer.

I've often wondered this myself. Anyone who has had a bad back injury (myself included) will tell you it can be completely debilitating. I got into a pretty bad car accident and it took me over a year before I was back to normal, and I still occasionally have soreness over five years later.

I'm not saying that's what is happening, mainly saying it COULD be. I tend to lean toward the "he is frustrated with his role" camp, though. Not that he necessarily deserves a larger role given his play.

I agree with Mixum. We've lost our depth. The way Bayless has played recently explains why he was on the bench behind Blake. Rudy has been mostly horrible this season. Webster is bad off the bench. Frye is gone. Outlaw is gone. Sergio is gone. We used to be this young team with so much potential, but most of that potential hasn't come through. There's no guarantee that Oden will ever be a consistent player for us. We've added good veteran players in Howard, Miller, and Camby and such additions are good if you're planning on winning the title immediately but if our window isn't open right now, we're stuck with three players who will be gone in a couple years and suddenly, our team will be very weak. We should really make a push to win the title this year, which means 40+ minutes out starters. I truly believe we can get out of the West, but I'm not sure I believe we can beat Cleveland. Sad. The Oden injury killed this team.

me clicking on this thread reminded me of the episode of Arrested Development, and Michael takes a bag out of the fridge that says "Dead Bird, dont throw away" and he opens it, and its a dead bird. And all he says to himself is...

"I'm not sure what I expected"

Wow, one of the best lines I've ever read on this message board.

So several of you guys really think Rudy is playing badly on purpose. Maybe I'm not sharp enough to see it. I mean, I see he's not as good as last year, but I don't see the evidence that he's doing it on purpose. What clues are you seeing that I'm not? Convince me he's playing this way on purpose.

I had been thinking he was going downhill the way Sergio did, as he interiorized inhibitions learned from the coaching staff and lost his Conquistadore spirit.

I don't think Rudy is playing poorly on purpose. I just think he's playing poorly, and like the prima donna he is, he's assigning blame to anybody but himself for his poor play.

Entirely possible....and if he is in pain from his back, that could be adding to his lack of focus. The thing is, these theories are not mutually exclusive - there could be multiple things at work here.

Fucking spot on! He's a prima donna. That's how they act. Granted, it's partly our (the fans) fault that he is this way. Meetin him at the airport like he was Jesus or some shit. If he can make more money in Euroland, and he's more of a star in Euroland...by all means...get the fuck out Rodolpho! (no offense to any posters who may have a similar name) The next Ginobili? Ooops! Nice try KP

I agree that Rudy has been affected mentally with his back issue this season. Hes not at full strength and he must decide at the end of this season if hes comfortable with the Nate system or he wishes to be traded. Its too bad that he has been playing poor compared to last year but I think a lot has to do with his mental attitude on what role he truly wants to express.

This just in: Rudy says Kerry Eggars has all but quit on Blazers.

Didn't we beat OKC at their place recently?

Great post!

The best thing to do when one of our players is struggling is to turn on him and tell him to fuck off, call him names, and be derogatory towards his place of birth.

Hopefully the fans will do the right thing tonight and boo the fuck out of his American hating euro nazi ass.
