Kesler wants out of Vancouver.

I know alot of posters didn't like him, I didn't really have issues with the guy but he did have an air of conceit in his posts alot. He and Dump(shock)used to butt heads alot I remember.lol

i see Dump's point about Kesler injury concerns but i'm not familiar with the severity of these injuries and wouldn't prevent me from going after him. Stepan is vastly overrated and Kesler would be huge on this team with his skill and size.

The question is would you rather give up Miller or a late 1st with Stepan, that's where I'm torn.

Like Dump, I was high on Stepan after last year but I think he is what he is....a good 2C, not great. He is a 20 goal 60 pt guy who is good defensively but isn't very big and disappears for LONG stretches.

To each his own but I will take Kesler over him despite the ages especially when our franchise goalie is 32

Yeah 31 I am trying to think back to some of his posts

He had all these comparisons of our players to other HOF players and said them as absolutes.

To his credit he hated Richards and didn't want us to sign him.....It was good stuff, I would love to hear what his other predictions were

If i remember correctly, according to Gartner Kreider had Bure's speed, Gretzky's passing, Lemieux' soft hands and Hull's shot.

I was a huge Kesler fan. However, he's not what he was. He's still a real good player but I don't see him being a force at 32. Stepan will be 26 then. I'll keep him.

and when Stepan is 26 our biggest window for a Cup will have just about closed down.

I don't agree. Lundqvist will be 34 and most of our young players will all be 25 to 30 then. That's when most teams win cups. You don't see a ton of young teams winning cups. Most cup winning teams have lots of players 25 to 30.

I would NOT deal Stepan AND Miller for Kesler, that is too much.

To me it is simple really. The next two seasons we need to be all in to win. Sure at 34, 35, 36 Hank could still be very good, but this is his prime. This is Nash's prime. McDonagh should be complete over that timeframe. Staal still very good. Girardi still very good.

This is the time for the Rangers. The next two seasons. We have the cap space and will be losing a lot of dead weight this summer. This is the time.

As is we may be the 3rd best team in the East right now, in that mix with 3 or so other teams, but clearly behind the big 2. We need to close that gap and be at the top the next few seasons. This is our window.

Yep - I only trade Stepan, that is more then enough. I love Kesler but Dump is right in the regard that he has some risk.

Bold moves are needed over the next couple years. It doesn't have to happen now but over the next 2 years yes. Kesler has tremendous upside even if he is a 60 pt guy now and never sniffs 40/70.

Kesler-Kreider-Nash is a line that has not just size and speed but is VERY tough to play against and that is what you need in the playoffs

too bad we gave up on Del Zerro otherwise we could have used him plus a pick, miller to get Kesler, im sure torts would have loved to have DZ back on his squad lmfao

I just don't think Vancouver would only take Stepan and a B-prospect, you'd have to give up at least a 1st with him, and that's fair as long as Kesler's deemed healthy. I'm not really big on giving up Miller either unless we were getting into E.Kane territory. A late 1st and maybe a Fast I'd think about if Van. sent back a 2nd or something.

I would offer Stepan, middle/solid prospect, solid pick FOR Kesler (2nd or 3rd rounder). That is fair IMO.

Maybe someone gives them more, so be it I guess.

I am going to be so pissed if Glen does nothing, including not trading Cally.....
