Some people(my biological father and his stepdad) still can't handle the fact he was voted in.. And frankly if you were to ever meet them they'd act civil, but would be thinking you're an ignorant cotton picker in their head. All because you're black.
Am I guilty by association? Should I cut my grandfather and my biological father out of my life? I've been told that by 'progressives'.
They're my family. Just like my great uncle who's in prison, I still love them. Can't respect them because of their beliefs/what they've done. But I love them. When they say stupid shit around me, I just leave. But I still love them... And will continue to hope for opportunities to show them color doesn't matter.
I can't really answer why people care more about the color of a persons skin or the gender identity of someone.
Frankly none of that stuff matters to me, and the funny thing is I don't know why it doesn't matter to me either.
I understand the color of someones skin or gender identity matters to some. But to judge someone based off either of those attributes is absurd.
I didn't see race relations improving under Obama.
I saw people on both sides killing one another.
I saw congress have moments of silence.
I saw numerous news conferences of Obama denouncing it. Saying it's wrong. It still happened again and again.
There comes a point in time where silence means your guilty.
There comes a point where talk becomes just talk.
Presidents haven't ever done enough to get rid of racism, hatred, bigotry, ignorance.
Frankly in my lifetime race relations haven't ever been trending upwards under any president.
Seems pretty privileged to think so.
None of this is me giving Trump an excuse.
Race relations were on life support under Obama. Trump came in and pulled the plug on them.

When Tricky Dick was in process of being impeached the Oakland A's went to the White House, explaining they respect the office of the presidency regardless of the person who holds it. But sometimes the person holding it can degrade the office to the point where there is no respect.
