Kevin Federline Wins Custody Battle

LOS ANGELES - <span id="lw_1191279684_0" style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;">Britney Spears</span>' continuing downward spiral took a devastating turn Monday when she was ordered to relinquish custody of her children by a judge who had cited her drug-and-alcohol-fueled lifestyle.</p>

Superior Court Judge Scott M. Gordon ruled that that ex-husband <span id="lw_1191279684_1" style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;">Kevin Federline</span> will take Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, beginning Wednesday "until further order of the court."</p>

The order stemmed from an unspecified oral motion made by Federline's lawyers and was handled in a closed-door hearing. The judge's order did not state the reason for the change in custody and he ordered all transcripts of the proceedings sealed.</p>

Phone messages left for representatives of Spears and Federline were not immediately returned Monday.</p>

Last month, Gordon said Spears engaged in "habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol" and ordered her to undergo random drug and alcohol testing twice a week as part of her ongoing custody dispute with Federline.</p>

Spears also was previously ordered to meet weekly with a "parenting coach" who was to observe and report back to the court about her parenting skills. Both Spears and Federline must complete the court's "Parenting Without Conflict" class.</div></p>

It's good for the kids but for Britney is bad for her reputation but if she really wanted to keep her kids then she could of stop drinking and doing drugs but she coudn't.I don't think Federline will do any good with the kids either he seems lazy.</p>

It doesn't seem like attacking the bread winner in this case. It seems like the court gave Britney extra leeway that they wouldn't give a normal person, clearly specified what she had to do to keep custody (making it seem like the court wanted her to keep custody), and she failed to do so. She's unstable, on drugs, not safe for the children. Kevin Federline is at least a normal human being at this point. It'll be interesting to see what triggered all this for Britney. Originally Britney's people put a spin on it that K-Fed was the reason for the divorce, and his "acts" caused it....but with Britney's downfall, more and more has come out, and Britney's mom even supports K-Fed...and it seems like Britney just had a complete pyscholigcal meltdown, which first led to the divorce, then turned to the drug abuse, and then turned to the backlash on those trying to help her.</p>

Horrible situation, but the judge clearly made the right decision.</p>

I've heard the same thing. Didn't his ex (Shar Jackson, Star Jackson, something like that I think) say he was a very good father to their kids? Probably better off with him since hes not a drug addict and a lot more stable.</p>

I feel bad for Britney I kindof wanted her to get back in shape and get her life together but that does not look like it is the case, this was probably the best thing that could happen to the children and even if K-Fed doesnt rack in the big $$ im sure that the child support cheques will be more then enough to live off of.</p>
