If I'm not mistaken, some time ago, there was a huge thread where some great points were made concerning Kidd and his place on the All-Time PG list. It was before the merge, so it's pretty impossible to dig up.</p>

Here's one point I'd like to make. I believe that Kidd gets less respect, because he hasn't won himself a ring. Other than Stockton, each of the players above Jason, have won at least one championship. Now don't get me wrong, I'm trying to take anything away from them. However, championships don't neccesarliy define a player. Kobe hasn't won a ring, since the departure of Shaq, does that make him worse? Should that be taken into account when he retires?</p>
I mean, I just think Kidd has played the PG position better than those 3. Yes, Cousy was the first great point guard. Yes Frazier had that 36 and 19 game, but still.</p>
</div>That's cool. I was scared you were going say assist numbers, which would be unfair because they used to count them a lot differently in Cousy's time so it was a lot harder to get them.</p>
