I don't see why everyone is so mad about this. Thats the price Kidd feels its worth to put up with playing for NJ be they contenders or not. He may not get that from another team but the situation he could be going to would probably be worth the paycut in his mind. This is Kidd's way of trying to force Thorn's hand is all because he wants to play elsewhere with either one of his USA teammates, that's pretty clear with the passive agressive crap we keep seeing pop up in newspapers.

I agree. Kidd clearly wants out.

How does asking for an extension, and then being upset and frustrated about not getting that extension, mean he wants out? I thinkyouguysare reading way too far into this. Judging by the comments of the "source" in the Star Ledger, it sounds like Kidd truly believes he deserves this extension. Is it crazy and delusional to think that anyone deserves that type of money? Maybe. But that's not the point. The point is that I don't see how you could equate someone wanting an extension with someone wanting out.

In 2000 when Kidd was in Phoenix, he asked for a contract extension that would extend him in 2004. They gave it to him and he seemed pretty much thrilled about it. I think he just seriously likes signing extensions. He wants to stay here. Be glad. Rod's not stupid. I'm sure he will make Kidd an offer down the road. The money amount will probably depend upon who else Rod is looking to sign in the future, too. But I'm sure the Nets will get it done. If the Nets want to sign someone big, I doubt Kidd would mind signing for less than the maximum amount.
