Kids With Lesbian Parents Do Just Fine

I just personally don't have any desire to have sex with one man, two men, or any combination thereof.

Which opens the door to me getting to ask finally - why is that your avatar?

BTW, one of my favorite weddings ever was a lesbian ceremony I went to at Greens Restaurant in Fort Mason in S.F. - back before it was actually legal to marry in 1990 or so - they are still together and happy and sweet.

It's her avatar because she doesn't like the half naked pictures of women in some avatars, and it's her way of making a point.

As for the topic, my liberal side stands tall on this one. I believe that if you aren't hurting anyone, you should be happy. If being with someone from the same sex makes you happy then who am I to judge? The bible speaks against it, but it also speaks against many thinkgs I do and have done. Then again, things all of us have done. I think for two women to raise a child is great, as long as that child has some sort of possitive male role model, and visa versa when it comes to two men raising a child. I thnk the different sexes bring different strengths to raising a child., so both sexes shoul dbe involved in some way. I have several gay and lesbian friends, and some even go to my church. It does get a little uncomfortable when the pastor talks about versus condemning homosexuality though

My understanding is it's her way of showing how she feels about the rest of us putting pictures of hot (but often plastic), nearly naked women in our avatars.

I know you must be wondering, so I'll confess--those are totally surgically enhanced horns on my giraffe, and I don't care. She's a saucy little minx.

I have trouble containing myself the way she chews her cud! :goosh:

Actually, you know, I agree that it's best for a child (if reasonably possible) to have strong adult male and female influences in his/her life. In fact, I also think it's best if a child has involved grandparents, and knows people of different religions, ethnicities, etc. I think it's not good when a child never meets anyone with any different viewpoints or backgrounds.

Who are you and what have you done with Maxie?

Joking of course, but it is weird to find myself agreeing with you on more than one occasion!

I'm primarily a libertarian (foreign policy, legalization of drugs, illegal immigration and desiring a social safety net being my primary disagreements), which puts me in the conservative camp more than not. However, when it comes to gay rights, I've always been bothered by the fact that when I was single I could get hammered and wake up married to someone I had no recollection of meeting, but my gay friends who have been together for years can't even make a legal commitment to one another. IMO, the government has no right to descriminate and should be out of the marriage business altogether. They should offer civil unions. Marriage should be a church institution, and churches should be allowed to discriminate. If you want to get married, then find a church that will marry you.

And when it comes to people having kids, I will always encourage two (or more) parent households over a single parent. I couldn't care less what the gender makeup of those two (or more) parents are.

It's nice to be on the same side of an issue with you.

I applaud crandc for her avatars. I think it's her way to protest the many avatars of busty women in bikinis.
