"While Knicks uniforms, old and new, were scattered around the room on mannequins, with the brand new one officially unveiled Thursday, Amar'e Stoudemire was in street clothes.
But even with jeans and a sport coat — and insisting he hadn't weighed himself this summer — it was easy to see Stoudemire was in far better shape than a year ago. And that, as much as any roster move, might be a key to the Knicks' chances this season.
With a back injury being rehabbed last year during the lockout, Stoudemire arrived at camp far heavier than his normal weight and appeared sluggish much of the season before he finally showed hints of his old form — and promptly saw his postseason ruined with a foolish punch of a fire extinguisher case."
