<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Knicks Front Office Believed Brown Had Ulterior Motives In Decisions 25th June, 2006 - 3:08 pm New York Daily News - Larry Brown used a record 42 different starting line-ups and would make a point to start certain players in their hometowns, making the front office believe that the coach was purposefully tanking the season. Brown and Isiah Thomas also thought that the club should play different styles. "Isiah wanted Larry to play like the Phoenix Suns ," one source said. "Larry told Isiah that maybe he should coach the team." The Knicks' front office also believed that Larry Brown was playing Jackie Butler ahead of Jerome James because Butler is represented by Keith Glass, the son of Brown's agent, Joel Glass. weird storyI don't know if Larry Brown would purposely tank a season, he doesn't seem like that kind of coach.

This whole thing in New York is about to get very ugly i think, with alot of "he said, they said" coming from both the Knicks and Larry Brown. Should be entertaining to watch during the offseason i believe.

The Knicks as an organization are trying DESPERATELY to save face by using any and every excuse imaginable to "justify" Brown's firing.EDIT: Oh, and Isiah wanted Larry to make the Knicks play like the Suns? Yeah... Isiah, you might want to do your homework before you hire a coach. Larry Brown has NEVER liked playing an up-tempo game, and he obviously won't change at this point.
