My agents secretary, on the other hand...

"I'm not scared of another team in the NBA. i respect them, but am not scared of them"

“with Greg healthy, with Brandon healthy, we’re gonna be a tough out for the next 5-6 years.”

"our owner is usually willing to take on salary"
“it’s a question of timing. most aggressive trades happen during the trade deadline. we’re gonna be active as anybody. but we have a lot of players here - if healthy- can contribute. but we will be aggressive in getting our team closer to a title."

I didn't hear the interview . . . was that fortelling of what part of the controversy is inside the organization?

I wonder if KP firing his agent would save his job. Right after the Penn firing the agent bad mouthed the organization and dragged KP's name into the mix. PA is an eccentric billionaire owner who can make big decisions and not care too much about the repercussions. If you hate an agent, do you put it past Allen to fire someone because of that?

Picking apart words (becasue I got nothing better to do and didn't hear the interview) . . . did he not include Aldridge because his health isn't an issue or because he isn't part of the core anymore?

The phone calls after the segment are exactly why KP is in trouble IMO. People give him all the credit for the turn around, and basically look at PA as the bad guy. The fact is that there are several people that were very important to the re-birth.

KP said it's easier to be active in trades if you have the no. 4 pick than the no. 22 pick. Obviously, that means he must be trading for the no. 4 pick.

Discuss.

I'd lean toward health.

Oh, I like how you think! Why mention the #4 pick at all? :)

Repped because I like the way you think.

My thoughts exactly man. Only an agent could fuck a situation this good up.

Deffo agree.

KP should control the calls on talk shows after he's been interviewed on the radio.

Also, I overheard a guy last week down at the bar talking about how well KP has done rebuilding this team. Pritchard did absolutely NOTHING to stop him.

KP OUT!!!!!!!!

He could avoid it by not doing the interview, especially with Canzano who KP knows full well is going to stir the pot. KP's flaw of being an attention whore is problematic. Take the little quote at the end of the interview with Quick where he taunts management about being fired, the guy is smart and he knows that type of line is only going to create more buzz. KP is a good GM, but he is also rather full of himself. A lot of very successful people are egotistical, but you have to know your place on the totem pole. KP seems to think he is higher than he really is.

He does nothing to dissuade his worshippers when they give him all the credit. He doesn't humbly spread the praise around. A real turn-off.

What a bunch of bullshit.

Have you ever heard the man speak?

It's problematic for an immature owner, yes. I appreciate Allen's desire to win (and willingness to prove it with the dollars), but if this is the reason KP is going to be released, Allen may be his own worst enemy to winning a title. Not that KP was or wasn't going to get the Blazers there, but an owner who burns with resentment over not having the spotlight, to the point that it affects his personnel decisions, is going to struggle with success.

.............which tells me that KP was already in hot water prior to Penn getting the axe. The operative phrase was, "This (Penn's firing) is just a shot across the bow."

KP had the dubious tasks of helping to re-build a broken (financial, marketing, etc.) business model. As it turned out, he became, both, a facilitator and messenger. Really, who could fault him for that. Shoot, he had a large hand in putting butts back in the seats.

Once he was placed on the hot seat, though, he slinked back. It's only recently that he he's become public with his thoughts. I don't in any way view this as him being an "attention whore".

Kenny Vance mentioned this last year, when it was overheard during Vegas Summer League that KP might be on the hot seat ... this appears to have been brewing for some time (and the reasons are still pretty murky).

Whatever the situation, the agent didn't do KP any favors.
