Absolutely worth a read, and many thanks for pointing it out.
Unfortunately, he didn't really say anything very interesting - but that's interesting in and of itself.

Some people have an ability to speak a lot words, but say not much at all. :dunno:

These to answer/questions are pretty interesting:

Has there been an increased emphasis for franchises to get set up for free-agency two and three years down the road? It seems like only recently you’ve started to hear about teams making moves to position themselves vis-a-vi free-agency years in advance.

KP: "It’s interesting. From a management perspective, we plan out three, four, five years. I think most teams do it. I just think that 2010 class is very special, so everybody is going to compete. But quite frankly, sometimes it’s important to zig when everybody else is zagging. "

Do you feel like you’re in a position where you don’t need to make any of those big moves?

KP: "What I don’t want to do is limit any of our thinking. Are we definite players in 2010? Who knows? A lot has to be done between now and then. What I do know is that I really like our team. I like our youth. You project out some of our guys like Nicolas, Bayless, Sergio, Rudy, Oden. What are they going to be in two or three years? They’re just cutting their teeth right now. I believe we have a chance to be pretty good for a long time. And that’s what we wanted. We want to have a chance to have a crack at the big games, the big playoff games down the line in two, three, four, five years. An elongated success. Hopefully we can do that."

And that's why KP did not draft Adam Morrison.

These to answer/questions are pretty interesting:

Hmm, how so? Basically, he said "It's important to think outside the box" and "We like our young players. They're going to be better in the future."

What's new or surprising about that? Had he said he hated the young players on the team or that it is important to slavishly imitate everyone else, that would be pretty interesting.

That's his job as a GM.

Can't really say much that might tip ones hand.

Also, imagine what the intarwebs would do if he did say something... We have a rabid fan base with broadband connections, anything that can possibly feed the rumor mill will be analyzed, milked, twisted, perverted, fought over, and settled as fact, regardless of what was actually said or meant.

Phooey. If KP really loved us, he would drop obscure little hints and riddles for us to obsess over! He could keep us entertained for days with minimal effort on his part. He just doesn't care about us! :smiley-bigcry:

Ya, I think he's still committed to keep what we have and let them play for a while. He's not that worried about this or next year, he's thinking more down the road. That's not to say he won't make a trade, but I doubt it'll be anything big.
