They are definately talking to Milsap. See him as one of the best players available and don't worry so much about his position.

Negotiations with Roy and Aldridge's agents are "amicable" and moving forward.

Was very disappointed with Hedo, but said better to see it not work now then to see it not work later.

Waiting for our last possible chance to use it seems like a real crap shoot and totally depends on how we do in the first half and how well the rest of the league does. Is it possible that Houston sucks ass and is very willing to part with Shane Battier for chump change next January? Sure, but it's also possible that they surprise everyone and battle for a spot in the playoffs and have no desire to part with Battier, leaving us in a pickle with no safety net.

And yes, I realize there are other players out there, but that was my example and it holds true for any of the potential opportunities that could help us by the trade deadline. We could score big, but there's an equal chance we'll be fucked.

I agree with you, but if a team like Washington, who expects to win big, goes in the tank, they could easily burn it all down. A team under the cap could reap some big benefits.

I like holding the cap space until close to the trading deadline. Desperate teams will be swimming our way to make a deal. That is how you get a Pau type deal.

On the other hand, if KP can't pull it off, then all mother f'ing hell will break loose.

overall I'm expecting the league to play 500 ball again this year. Sure some teams will do better then that, but others will fall to injuries and general suckatude... bad teams tend not to do well at the gate.

I don't know anyone thats very optimistic about the economy. Certainly the league isn't as evidenced by their projections of a significantly lower lux tax line in 2010-11. Is it really that farfetched to project that 7.5M of capshavings (or 15M of savings for the right team) might field a few calls by midseason?

The trade deadline is the deadline for the rest of that season. Once a team's season is over, they can be involved in trades, up to the draft. Then there's a trade moratorium until July 1, I think.

- These things take a long time, there's a lot of stuff to figure out, but Brandon and LA will be here for a long time.
- No one should hit the panic button just quite yet. They'll come to an agreement. They're not trying to do anything bad to him, and he's not going to do anything bad to them.
- Once it hits this point in the negotiation, it becomes critical and cautious with the agent involved. You don't want to offend the agents of players.
- Brandon is the franchise and he'll be here a long time.
- New things can open up every day, and that's what KP loves about the business is creating ideas and the opportunities.
- They don't think they've had a bad summer at all. "We're a better team for it" for not getting Hedo.
- The team went right back to work to find other possibilities after the Hedo debacle.
- They had a verbal agreement with Hedo, which was disappointing. And if Hedo didn't want to be a part of it, they don't want a part of him.

- With the Blazers sitting on space, they still feel like they're in the driver's seat in terms of making a trade with a team looking to dump salary.
- They need to feel that the player they bring in is a special fit or else it's not worth it.
- Per Rudy.. he wants to play and Rudy thinks he can make a bigger contribution next season, and KP agrees.
- The Millsap offer is still undecided. They're still looking an options. "You just don't know what's going to happen tomorrow."

Would you have preferred a Brian Wheeler softball-question rah-rah-Blazers interview? Sounded to me like Canzano asked some pretty pointed questions that lots of people have been asking. I thought Canzano did an excellent job of trying to get something out of KP.

It's KP's job to look at/consider every situation... again my question was "did he validate Quick's report that they were making an offer to Millsap?" According to what posters are saying in another thread, Quick is reporting that an offer has been made. There are real differences between considering, making, and made.

If Canzano didn't let him off the hook, what exactly did we learn? What's the big story out of that interview? He just acted like an ass and tried too hard to be tough on KP, when there's really no need. WHAT THE FUCK IS THERE TO BE SO UPSET ABOUT??? KP had already admitted he was disappointed about the Turkey issue. He already admitted the negotations for Roy & Aldridge are still continuing, but it'll get done. There's NO NEED for it to happen RIGHT NOW, except if you HAVE NO LIFE and your whole world revolves around there being Blazer news. You people are unbelievable. It's like the twilight zone in here.
