<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><span style="font-family:Tahoma">"I solved all my life issues with this contract. I know that NBA is the NBA but I didn't have any good offers from any NBA teams. Any offers that I got were about half of what I was getting here. I would have felt bad had I accepted to make half the money. I am in Moscow now and they gave me the deadline of 8 a.m. local time, which was midnight New York time. It just passed not that long ago."</div></span>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><span style="font-family:Tahoma">I have not slept in three days. I was in shock. I was feeling that I would finish here in Europe. But all NBA teams knew that I had a deadline. If they wanted to offer what I was looking for -- which was a three-year mid-level deal -- nobody offered it. Cleveland did offer a three-year deal that was less than mid-level."</div></span>

Turns out the deadline was on his ~$10 million US contract, and not self-imposed. Tough nuts Curly, perhaps we will see you one day

Damn, the team gave the deadline? Why?

Hm, maybe they knew the Nets wouldn't be able to do a sign & trade within that short of time.

Yeah it's a weird situation. On one hand you think that they gave him the deadline to really get him by the balls and eliminate any competition. On the other hand they paid him more than twice what anyone else could have...
