President Trump was not aware of the unusual arrest of a major Chinese technology executive when he sat down to dinner recently with Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow.

Huawei Technologies Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou was arrested in Canada on Dec. 1 on a U.S. extradition warrant. Huawei is suspected of evading American sanctions on Iran, a possibility that U.S. prosecutors have been investigating since 2016.

The arrest was made on the same day that Trump and Xi met for dinner amid high-level trade and national security talks in Buenos Aires. An unnamed senior U.S. official with direct knowledge of the matter told The Washington Post last week that Trump learned of the arrest only after the meal had concluded and reacted with intense anger.

I should think that would piss him off.
I suspect the folks at Justice have some explaining to do.

Named sources have said that he doesn't read things. I imagine Trump missed that briefing. Can't say I'm surprised I guess, but he should only be mad at himself.

Early after he was elected he said he wasn't going to have daily briefings with his cabinet ...seems now he spends 3 hours in the morning on his hair and the rest watching TV while tweeting....he calls Hannity daily yet doesn't read daily briefs or reports. They were calling him 2 minute Don early on saying that was his max attention span when being addressed...clowntown is going down ...the reality tv script for his tv show just doesn't hold water in a presidency. Firing people is his MO and the guy is demonstrably incapable of vetting a team of honest hard working professionals...amazing...and it's not like we didn't see this coming all along!

Could be one excuse. Trump is said to not like reading briefings and only allows a certain amount and certain content read to him. Easy to see how he missed it. Funny how several posters knew this but you didn't.

Another example of deep state subterfuge designed to obstruct our President in order to prevent fair and friendly relationships between countries.
 
Is anyone surprised? He thought the mayor in Puerto Rico was the president of Puerto Rico for god's sakes..he doesn't realize Puerto Rico has no president

Trump doesn't have aides, cabinet members or anyone that can inform him? They have all turned on him? Sounds like a poorly run and disorganized White House.

Anyone with a brain would know not to start a war with China by arresting a top exec while the President is meeting with the Leader of China over this trade deal we all know has to be fixed.. That is beyond ignorant.

The arrest was by Canadian law enforcement in Canada...nothing to do with our police force...yet I stand by my point....Trump lacks peripheral vision..fact is our Navy is patrolling off China's shores even before the meeting...which do you think pisses off the Chinese more? Our Navy deployed in the Taiwan Strait or the Canadian police?

And chief economic adviser kept saying I don't know to every question about the economy. Trump hires the best people.
