I'm gonna head out on lunch and get it. I read good reviews on it last night.

Red Dead was basically GTA in the Wild West. Its a Sandbox Rockstar game with some new twists. The interrogating and case cracking seemed like a new cool twist.

I have it and really like it. It is more linear than the GTA series or Red Dead, but the graphics and gameplay are amazing.

My only complaint is that they don't let you invert/uninvert the x-axis, which is hard to get used to for me since its different than any game.

I think it's hilarious that you can skip the action sequences if you keep messing up.

Invert X? Left is right, right is left? Why would you want that?

Took me about 23hrs to finish the game with all of the street crime missions and the bonus content.

The game is fun and the interrogation element adds a degree of difficulty that GTA and RDR don't have. It forces you to make some choices. I like the fact that you can replay cases and also free roam the city. However the replay value of the game is low.

Not so thrilled that the xbox version comes on 3 DVD's. Dunno if this is the case for PS3. Swapping discs is a pain in the ass. Brings me back to the PS2 days.

Fun game. Interesting use of the GTA structure. Facial animations and lip-synching are flat out awesome though the people in the game tend to look a bit ugly. A hint of what is to come.

Also, I hope that this game using Los Angeles means the next GTA won't also be set there. Hate to think GTA is just going to cycle through their old locales as they did with GTA 3 & 4.

How is the free roam? Is the city interesting?
Its not really like GTA. The city is big but there is hardly anything to do, especially since you can't really cause trouble. There are a couple challenges (drive every type of car, find hidden cars, find hidden badges) but it feels like filler. Like I said before once you finish the cases and maybe go back and do a few over, the game is going to collect dust.

Exactly, it's a great game and a lot of fun, but i'm glad i only rented it and didn't spend 60 bucks on it.

I'm thinking the same thing. I havent finished it.. its cool and all to do the cases, but am wishing I didnt fork over the money's for it.
