Now Hickson will really want to rub off on him...

Must be a mistake.

Greg Monroe should have won.

PORTLAND, Ore. (March 18, 2013) – Portland Trail Blazers forward/center LaMarcus Aldridge was named the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week, it was announced today by the NBA.

Aldridge led the NBA in scoring (27.0), while ranking tied for 13th in rebounds (10.7) and tied for third in blocks (3.00). He shot 56.4 percent from the field and converted all 19 of his free throw attempts, the most in the league this week without a miss.

The two-time NBA All-Star recorded at least 20 points and 10 rebounds in all three games. Aldridge now ranks third in the NBA with 20 games this season of at least 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Aldridge wins the award for the third time in his career after taking the honor twice during the 2010-11 season. The seventh-year Trail Blazer joins Clyde Drexler and Brandon Roy as Portland’s only players to garner the award at least three times.

The Trail Blazers went 2-1 this week, including home wins against New York and Detroit. Aldridge led the team in scoring, field goals made, free throws made and blocked shots.

Washington’s John Wall was named the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Other nominees for the honors were Atlanta’s Al Horford, Denver’s Kosta Koufos, Miami’s LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, Minnesota’s Ricky Rubio, Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, and San Antonio’s Tim Duncan.

Why does every thread have to turn into an "I told you so" jackoff session?

I'm not saying I'm surprised they do, I'm just wondering why they must.

I guess it would be similar to those that want him traded, to post ridiculous rants about how he quit. Does seem old doesn't it? the good thing is Aldridge has more positive impact for this team than the negative ones. So the battles have been a bit lopsided so far this season.

You do realize that the "aldridge quit" thread is from Kingspeed, right?

Well, a few days after the silly "Aldridge Has Quit" thread, along with numerous other threads bashing LMA, he wins Western Conference Player of the Week.

Out of all "I told you so" moments, this is probably the most relevant of the season. I can't blame posters who defended LMA over the last week for rubbing it in the face of the negative LMA posters.

There are almost 400 posts in that thread, though. KingSpeed is hardly the only one who made foolish posts in that thread.

This.

Oh don't worry, the "let's trade Aldridge" bandwagon used that thread for their champaign among the many other threads regarding the matter.

Because if they don't, the same dumb ideas will keep on popping up over and over again..year after year..player after player.

What is your point? If a poster shows that he doesn't know jack about the game when he posts negitive crap about the players, why shouldn't he be called out?

Maybe he should learn the game, then post?

Congrats to him. He tends to do well during the second half of his seasons. Let's hope he can come in at the beginning of next season starting like that right away. It'll help us win more games.

Every player will be criticized with positive and negative comments. That's the nature of the beast.

Perfect response.

He was 6-12 on jumpers, and 7-9 in the paint against DET.
Against NYK, he was 3-9 on jumpers and 5-6 in the paint.
Against MEM he was 3-7 on jumpers and 7-12 in the paint.

So for the week, he was 12-28 (42.8%) on jumpers and 19-27 (70.3%) in the paint. He only shot 51% of his shots as jumpers, well down from the 72% he normally shoots. I don't think there's a single poster here that wants to get rid of LaMonster. It's just that LaMonster weeks don't generally happen anymore. They're great when they do.

No offense, but I see a difference between legitimate criticizim and what KS said. Saying LA quit on the team, that he doesn't care and that he is garbage is WAY over the top. If he was right about that assessment, good for him, but when he rags on the player and is DEAD WRONG (as witnessed by him winning player of the week)......I (and others) will be waiting to remind him of how clueless he is.

He should've been in the paint all day against the Knicks who were without their big 3.

He definitely did well against quality competition in Memphis and Detroit.

Do you pay attention to his posting style? He's manic all over the place. Are you expecting that change? LMAO!

I think this has more to do with Stotts realizing that he isn't a Dirk. I think I'm more impressed with his rebounding effort. He is really working hard on rebounding the ball; especially in the 4th quarter.

Good point, and beyond that, I think it is part of the Kingspeed 'schtick'. He has a sense of humor, and is generally a kind and clever guy.

Clearly, my criticism go through to Aldridge. I lit a fire under him after that awful effort against New Orleans. This award makes me very happy.
