New York Knicks guard Landry Fields thinks more players -- especially superstars -- may follow Deron Williams' lead. ESPN reported Thursday that the New Jersey Nets' All-Star point guard struck an agreement in principle to play in Turkey in the fall if the NBA lockout has not yet been settled.

"I think with big-name guys like [Williams], it's possible because teams are going to want to sign these enormous superstars," Fields said. "But they know that once the lockout ends, [the players] will leave. I think if these overseas teams can bring in superstars, sell some tickets, bring more of a fan base to that country, that's what they're going to do. I think it's more applicable to superstars, but I'm sure there will be other guys who are not necessarily All-Stars who will do something like that."

Fields' prediction was borne out at least in part Friday, when former Toronto Raptors guard Sonny Weems signed with a Lithuanian team and former Philadelphia 76ers forward Darius Songaila signed with another Turkish team.
