I understand that 4 letter words are going to be used here off and on.....but I have really realized that some of the posts are beyond "rated R". This is a forum about the Blazers and all the things that are related to NBA etc. Yes, sometimes we do get off the topic. I know, it is open season to say whatever you have to say and how you say it. If using 4 letter words and the F Word is necessary for you to explain your point .................I guess that is indicative of who you are. It is too bad because there are a lot of teenagers who would probably read this or are reading this or even writing on here........which really sets a poor example. I am not a saint by no means but some of the posting is beyond which I consider appropriate for this forum.

1. It is always an option to ignore those who constantly cuss.

2. Teenagers, and really anyone on this board, already know all the swear words. Please don't think a 12 year old is sheltered from the world of adult language (or even content). They're not.

3. The poor spelling and grammar, as long as we're worried about the children, is really a bigger issue......especially when you have one long, run-on sentence........seperated by ellipsis on steroids.......or say things like "I am not a saint by no means."

4. More than likely a lot of the posters who constantly say the f word are teenagers.

5. This is not a "after school special" or youth group forum.

I haven't asked because it doesn't bother me, but we are nearing the year 2009. Computers can do anything. I decided to put another poster on ignore last night and couldn't be happier. So, I don't see why it shouldn't be possible to set your preferences to edit certain words that others don't mind.

You would see ******** ******* *********** ********** ********

And I would see cocksucking fucker dicklicking ballswallowing assfucker

To me censoring a word is like setting your alarm clock ahead 20 minutes so you won't be late. If you aren't weak minded you will figure it out.

theres nothing like some slick ballhandling leading to penetration to the hole so you can finish at the rim.

If you're looking for censorship I know of another blazer forum that would be perfect for you

The reason I am here is precisely because I can use the word FUCK whenever I want.

The real question here is why you want to see that?

...well then it's a good thing that nobody really cares what you consider appropriate and that you aren't calling the shots upstair [good luck with your sainthood]!!! :devilwink:

This is just nonsense. First of all, you can't "ignore" something you've already seen, and you can't ignore a particular poster, because you never know when he'll pop up in a thread. As for teenagers, it doesn't matter if they "know" the words or not. That doesn't excuse us from using the words. Patrolling this forum is all we can do, after all.

The poor spelling and grammar, while regrettable, is a different matter altogether. People aren't always aware when they're using poor grammar or spelling, but they are certainly aware when they use 4-letter words.

There's an "Ignore" feature on the forum which will block all posts from a specific poster.

Why yes, yes you can. :ghoti:

Yes, what a hero. Ignore me and then post a thread that personally insults me in its title. This after he posted his phone number for me to call so we could "settle it like men".

LMAO

Is there a way to have swear words blocked without having to block posters?

While I'm not going to condemn anyone by their choice of words, I'd rather read them even though I do enjoy what most have to say here. Not necessarily how it's said.

I gotta say even though cuss words aren't masked on this site, there's not much cussing going on in most of the posts. This thread is the exception due to the OP's request, but most of the cussing I see is in the game threads when the Blazers are losing or there's a bad call by the refs. For the most part people are pretty civil around here.

Yes that's some true motha fuckin shit right there.

This thread reminds me of this commercial. Orbit's best one:

I bet Rudy Fan wishes this board could be more like this:
