According to blazers edge miller and Sarah didn't want to hire olsney

I loev a lot of the hindsight reporting that comes out after something like this.

Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
Speculation had flourished in recent weeks that once Blazers hired Neil Olshey as GM, Larry Miller's days as team president were numbered.

Speculation has flourished? Where was it flourishing? Why didn't Ken Berger ever mention it previously, amidst the flourishing speculation?

Good. Never liked the guy. Not sure why, but he just didn't seem to fit the role.

And now they are free to hire me as President.

I'm told Miller played a behind-the-scenes role in Rich Cho joining #Bobcats, after Paul Allen abruptly fired Cho.

Kind of an odd thing to do, maybe not.

Probably pulling a Costanza and leaving on a semi high note.

I see this as good news. Miller always rubbed me the wrong way in press conferences. He may be a nice guy, but he never really seemed to fit as a Blazer staffer. Good luck to him.

Under Miller’s leadership, the Trail Blazers recorded three consecutive trips to the postseason from 2009-11 for the first time since 2001-03. The Trail Blazers won 54 games and shared the Northwest Division crown in 2008-09, the team’s first division title since 1998-99.
ROFL! It was all thanks to Larry Miller! Who knew?

Rival executive on Larry Miller: "Genuinely nice guy, but selling shoes and building a contender are two very different jobs."

LOL wow

No idea, but that, IMO would be an amazing hire

What would be so amazing about it? He's reasonably bright, and he used to play basketball. That doesn't seem like a really strong qualification.

How about someone who has actually worked as an NBA executive? Or at least in the entertainment industry generally?

There goes KC and the Sunshine Band's big Opening Night gig.

He was almost Oregons governor.

I agree, what qualifies Dudley other than that he went to Yale? Also, I helped campaign against him for governor, it just wouldn't feel right. :devilwink:

Sad day for the Trail Blazers organization. Larry was a stud, a great president. Thru his previous role with Brand Jordan, he had a bunch of good relationships with players, agents, etc.
