Legalization of marijuana/pot

Yea, theres been some pretty hardcore debate sh*t today. And I thought I would spice it up even more. Thoughts....legal....or not legal, that is the question. There might have been an old topic about it. But the Debate topic is new, so I'll add it here

Only if it's done in the person's home. I don't really have a problem with this drug, but I wouldn't want it to lead to the legalization of other drugs. I guess I'm undecided.

Well I know that would illegal, I could promise you that it has happend before. But pot can give you the same effects of alcohol sometimes

Yeah I know, but if someone wanted to smoke weed on the job right now they could, no one's going to pass a law making it legal for you to get high and then operate heavy machinery.

Where you at Primetime? :biggrin: I dont have much to say about this other than I feel alchohol is worse than pot.My dad being a police officer said himself when he pulls people over that are high they are very calm and easy to deal with. However when they are drunk they always want to put up a fight and argue.

That may be true, but alcohol can be drank in moderation with no effects, the same can't be said of marijuana.

If you could smoke it but not work with heavy machinery and crap like that why not? But then you would have to have all these tests and stuff so it really wouldn't be worth it. I know someone who grows it though.

Myself, I have never used any frug or weed. I'm simply scared because of stories my father has told me. Plus I don't need it to have fun, I have a great life and can have fun in other ways. My friends have done it and do it now, but I skip out on that. Whether it's legal or not people will still get it, and people will still use it, so to me it matters not

I think it should stay illegal because sometimes when people smoke that stuff, they get crazy and they can't control their reflexes. We don't want them getting into their cars and causing freak accidents on the road. We already have enough drunk drivers as it is; we don't need drug drivers.

Well it doesn't affect your motor skills as badly as alcohol does. What people don't understand is that it's illegal to have a blood alcohol level over .08%. It's legal to drink alcohol, but not to get drunk, so people are breaking the law already when they're doing that. It's stupid to say that pot should be legal because alcohol is worse, because that isn't true. Alcohol is fine if it's used responsibly and in moderation, but it becomes dangerous when people abuse it.
