Got a nail in my tire so I called out and went to Les Schwab. Some angry dump truck driver punched a les schwab employee. Samoan employee at schwab leaves his area and comes over and gets the guy in a headlock. Police got called. Dump truck guy calls friend to pick him up and flees. Schwab people are saying they refuse to put the tires back on and are getting the dump truck towed.

A little 8am excitement for the Friday

There is a Les Schwab right across the street from my work. I need to take my car over there and I hope I get to experience something like this!

Seem's like it doesnt take much for certain people to flip out!
I had a guy yesterday follow me into a Rite Aid parking lot, as i got out he approached me and said I cut him off, I said I don't think so and if I had I would apologize. He got in my face some and I told him to cool down, do you really want to take on a 71 year old?
Then his gal comes over and said the guy that cut you off is over there parked in front of Safeway. He said he was sorry and left. I stood there and shook my head.

Yeah people are more hostile than ever before. I wonder sometimes if it’s because they know police a lot of times have their hands tied.

Im sure that might be part of it, also there's just too much people are at odds over and have their guards up.

Dibs on the reality show rights! Now I just need a snappy title. Hmm. “Rubber Rage” might draw the viewers.

I think it's a small part of that, but also because we're being pitted against each other AND being shown that we can lie, cheat, steal (latino heat! rip), be assholes and there's no repercussions.

That and we're a country that doesn't encourage calm ways to deal with stuff. That's not manly.

People are just stressed out... Nobody is thinking about police before getting pissed off.

Don’t mess with Samoans

Grade school story time:

I remember a time when a small (samoan) kid at my school was picked on by the cool (bully) kid one recess.

I fail to remember his name, but the Samoan kid was kind and friendly to those of us who were his friends. Never once did he ever get in a fight, or raise his voice, or nothing...but one day the bully kid decided to do something to him that crossed the line and ooh lawdy did it get ugly. It took 2 adult male teachers to pull him off of the other kid, who lost a tooth, and I don't think we ever saw him again.

That was like 40 years ago, so my memory might be a bit foggy. But the lesson was "don't mess with Samoans".

I totally thought that was going in the direction of "then his 300 lb Samoan father paid the other kids dad a visit", because I've heard a couple of those stories too..

Personally, Samoans are my favorite kind of Girl Scout Cookie.......

Schwab is good for there free tire rotation. Other than that I like Discount Tire over Schwab.

They also offer free repair for the lifetime of their tires. I just had a flat last week and went in and they took care of it.

I'm only taking my car there so they can do their whatever point inspection, then I'll know what parts I need to buy and decide if I can do the work myself or not.

Is Les Schwab still headquartered out of Prineville? I see there's no more Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend. Some home builder.
