Honestly I am kind of shocked. The Bums were never in talks with Lester. They need a lefty premier pitcher. NO true 4th or 5th pitcher, unless you want to go on with a has been Dan Haren. With perhaps Kemp off the books, and Hanley definitely off the books (thank fkn god). That leaves plenty of money to outright out bid everyone.

However, the new brass keeps saying their job is to recycle dollars, or make cost cuts, and earn better returns on their dividends. Guggenheim knows less about baseball than any other owner. Knowing Guggy or Magic, they will hire drag racers to perform all game long. You know the Tinsel Town Drag RAcers, disgusting cross dressing men, in mini-skirts, hot pants, wigs, heavy make up, and stilletos of course.

At this point I don't think the Dodgers care whether there payroll exceeds $250M as long as they can be top dog in the west step over the Giants for a WS.
