Let's rebuild through the lottery and fire the coach

No. Too risky. Plenty of guys picked in the top 3 are disappointments. Do you trust our scouting staff and decision makers?

Especially since our management has been doing a terrible job drafting as well.

So when and how do we tell the Blazers that we've decided the team will tank the rest of the season?

Ironically, the best way to maximize our chances in the lottery would be to KEEP the current coach.

Even though I have been critical of some aspects of Nate's coaching over the years, I have never flatout advocated firing him. I always thought if we had a strong GM who could push him to change a couple things he could be alright. But we haven't had that GM and Nate hasn't made the needed changes or even recognized the problem (if I could just hear him say "our team defense sucks and that's on me!") So, yes, he has to go.
I don't know, maybe we could still make it without rebuilding. If we could get a Rondo or Williams for Batum, then a new coach who could take advantage of Gerald Wallace's talents, and trade Camby, Felton and Crawford for draft picks (maybe then trading up in the draft for one really solid big man), sign a decent free agent. But if we can;t get that top line point guard then maybe we gotta think about rebuilding. By the way did it seem like nate took Batum out tonight because he was playing like a sissy?

Batum was just being sarcastic, like SnakeOiler.

Does that mean that you believe this was a must-win game in the middle of the season, KS?

Go Blazers

Well, the more you lose, the more the next game becomes must win. I mean you can't wait until you must win the last 10 games of the season to make the playoffs. We are almost 2/3 way through the season. Nate said we have to win 38 games to make the playoffs. That means going 19-8 the rest of the way so yeah, tonight was a must win. Gotta start winning eventually or it's over. The Denver, Houston, and Minnesota losses were all must win games because look what has happened now. They're all three ahead of us in the standings. Win those games and we're competiting for HCA, something this team needs desperately if it's to win in the playoffs. But we lost, and lost, and lost and so it's over.

No. We need new ones.

We don't have to tell them. They're doing their job perfectly.

By the way, tonight we learned Felton's not the problem. We suck even when he plays well. The problems run deeper.

I know I'm one of the latecomers to this bus, but I'm on it now. We need a GM who can evaluate talent and we need him soon. When you lose players like Oden and Roy, it's time to go back to the well. I'm fine with that now. Who's with me?

It starts with a plan and the right people to implement it, IMO we have neither and that is my biggest concern.

For the record, I have free tix to our games this month against Knicks and Lakers. I'll be going to both because, who knows? Maybe I'll finally see them win after the thousands of dollars I spent watching them lose to LA, Phoenix, GS, and LA.

or you will be the first to see Ewill score 20 pts, play good D, and show us he's part of the Future?
