I still find it amusing how many Rangers got cheap shotted over the years and the pussy NHL did nothing about it. Panarin. Lindgren with Pastrcock twice. It goes on and on. Parros is an incompetent, cluster fuck. The fact our retard commissioner keeps him is not a surprise. Bettman is a dumbass.

So far this year only Reaves has received a 5 game suspension for his hit on Nurse.

The more the better. As i watch the replay and see how he intentionally goes in with his elbow to the other person’s neck it’s clear what a hack he is and deserves major punishment for it.

That is my nickname for Rempe after Ogie Oglethorpe from slap shot. Essentially, they’re almost the same player.

Check that. Actually 8 games. Total bullshit as neither ref even called a penalty on the play

Bullshit or not bullshit, fair or not fair, targeted by the refs or not targeted by the refs, quite frankly it is all irrelevant. It is what it is with Rempe, and as long as he continues to not understand the situation he is in with his game and the refs, he cannot be a regular in the lineup for this team when they are actually playing for something. The rest of this season who gives a s*it who is in the lineup as the team is done anyway.

And BTW, that hit by Rempe was a joke. That is exactly the hit the NHL says they want to get out of the game. Whether Rempe slowed up or not, which I am not sure he did, that was a disgusting cheap hit by Rempe. The guy needs to learn how to play clean tough hockey before he expects to ever be a regular in the lineup. If a Ranger got hit like that, you'd all be flipping out.

And whether or not the NHL is consistent on how they dish out their punishment (which they are not - they are a disgrace), or if they are fair or not to the Rangers, doesn't change the absolute cheapness of Rempe's hit. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Bennett cheap shots a player every month doesn’t get anything.

Rempe has played 22 games, shocking that he's still making rookie mistakes. The imbalance in NHL punishment against the Rangers continues.

He's played 22 NHL games....he's been playing hockey virtually all of his life. You don't need years of NHL experience to know how to avoid taking avoidable penalties.

You Satherites seem more uncomfortable with Rempe in the lineup than the NHL. I would hope that suspension is appealed and reduced, I agree with Lav, had Rempe hit the guy full force as some of the hysterical banter has suggested Heiskaknen would have been stretchered off the ice. This hit doesn't even crack the top 10 dirtiest NHL plays this year, the only thing over the top in this ordeal is the punishment.

If Rempe learned how to control himself and play the right way, I think he can be a good asset on the 4th line. The issue is he has not been able to do that, and it hurts the team. As I see it, it's 100% on Rempe to get it together and learn how to play tough physical hockey, but within the rules. There is a line that you can stagger and even slightly cross from time to time, Rempe has not learned how to do it the right way thus far.

That hit against Dallas was egregious, and he needs to know better at this point. Hopefully for his sake, and the team's sake, he gets it, because he can be an asset if he does.

Some dinosaurs can't accept the fact that the NHL has changed dramatically over the years. Sadly the Rangers as an organization hasnt figured out how to find much success in any of the eras. But having guys like Rempe in the lineup and playing 5 minutes a game because he is either in the penalty box or getting ejected for dumb decisions is not a winning formula. He brings the physical presence that the team has lacked for years but he needs to play smarter to provide any return on that equity.

Rempe is a moron but 8 games is more dickless Parros and Bettman Rangers hatred.

There’s no need for this in the game, in any era.

How long did it take CK to stop running into goalies? Young players make mistakes, I would have to think Rempe holds the record for quickest repeat offender designation. The longest suspension handed out by the NHL in 6 years for a hit that the guy popped right up from. Even Brooks was up in arms enough to write an article about the need for appeal. The only thing that has changed over the decades in the NHL is the size of the players, every Cup winner has a Rempe or two. Florida added Tkachuk and Bennet, Vegas is a team of maulers, Tampa won nothing until adding Maroon. The Rangers are the dinosaurs thinking the physical part of the game can be circumvented via finesse and speed when no team has won with that formula. Bottom line is if Rempe was on any other team it's 2 games, if he's on another team and the hit is on a Ranger it's zero games/no hearing/lucky to get 2 minutes.

Young players make mistakes, veteran players make mistakes....everyone makes mistakes. Smart players learn from their mistakes on their own. Others have to get multiple multiple-game suspensions to learn (hopefully). Others never learn.
8 games is definitely too much and will be appealed and maybe dropped to 6 games (which is still too much if you ask me but it will be what it will be).
No one here is saying the best way to win a Cup is with all skill and finesse, not sure where you're getting that impression from. However, trying to equate Rempe to Tkachuk and Bennet (and even Maroon) is just a bit of a stretch and we should leave it at that. Just a bit.....
The Rangers definitely need a better plan for bringing that physical presence. Rempe doesn't do much good if he is playing 5 minutes a game and taking penalties/getting suspended. He needs to recognize the league is watching him more closely than any other player in the league and play smarter.

I think it's an emotional reaction to hate on Rempe, obviously he has to play smarter like every rookie especially with his size advantage. Granted we're just pecking away on keyboards but it's ballsy to declare a guy not fit for the NHL after a third of a season especially when his game has improved and the Rangers lineup stinks. I'd rather get a longer look, the guy has had a tough road unlike many of our pampered players, lost his dad at an early age and overcame many obstacles to get to the NHL. I'm always pulling for guys that had to work to succeed over the preordained especially when the NHL clearly is singling him out.

Just as an example of what Dump and I have written keep an eye on whether Kucharov gets suspended for a blatant kneeing major on Tkachuk and Boston's Wahlstrom who also took a 5 minute major for an ugly boarding penalty.

No one is hating on Rempe....all we have been saying is he needs to use his head and understand he is under a microscope and to give an extra second's thought when he is lining up a guy for a big hit when his back is turned....its not too much to ask. I'd rather have Rempe out there to deter some of the douchebags on the other teams. Notice how last night the Devils played extra scumbaggy knowing there was no one there to discourage them.

The fact of the matter is Bennett has hurt more players the past 2 years than Rempe and has had jack shit done to him. Bettman and Parros know Dolan thinks they are retards and I'm sure Dolan has told other owners the same thing. Honestly, it's time to replace Bettman. He is useless.

Rangers fans should be thrilled that we finally have a guy to protect the talent, even over the hill Reaves was effective at deterring cheap crap from opponents.
