These kids are annoying as hell.

Dozens of Lewis & Clark College students are peacefully and silently occupying rooms outside the college president's office Tuesday morning to send him the message they want more done to create safety and inclusion on campus.

Their protest comes after several race-related incidents on campus, including a Saturday morning attack on a black studentwho said three white men beat him while making racist remarks.

President Barry Glassner was not in his office when the students began their sit-in, but he came to the protest briefly to speak to students, thanking them for their commitment to the cause.

It only gets worse from here, Nate. You are still young. Another 20 or 30 years and the kids will be far more annoying.

I'm starting to see why nobody takes young people seriously when they do stupid shit like this.

Man, this political correctness is going to be the death of this country

I didn't read the link, but what you quoted doesn't sound very annoying, frankly. A peaceful, quiet sit-in?

Yeah, how dare that President not be working on Saturday.

M-F, President. Saturday and Sunday, Paul Blart college cop.

If people are going to freak out about land taken from Native Americans they better move somewhere else. It's pretty much everywhere right?

Well first they were pissed about some anonymous racist comments on Yik Yak and they wanted Lewis and Clark to do something about that, and now they're pissed about some other things. Just a bunch of spoiled, entitled, self-important white college kids with nothing better to do.

The democrats have created this. Let them eat their own.

The President of the school should boot them out a school. Offer a refund if they clear by 4:00.
Anything less and people should refrain from paying the bill for their kids going to these schools that put up with this crap.

How many complaints about complainers could a woodchuck make, before a woodchuck received complaints about being a complainer?

I guess I don't find it all that annoying. Maybe, it is misguided, like why are they blaming the President?, but I guess I don't find it all that annoying.

But that's my point... they're holding the school responsible for something that the school can't control.

Kinda takes me back to my teenage years when campus protests were the norm across most of the country. Just a bunch of spoiled self entitled kids. I apologize if I'm talking about anyone's parents or grandparents. Those stupid brats and their shenanigans helped open the door to such travesties as, equal rights, civil rights, free(r) speech, abolishment of the draft, the resignation of a crooked president, the better late than never retreat from Vietnam, a voting age of 18 and a whole slew of other unsavory events. Of course, that's the reason this country is in such a mess today, right? Shoulda done Kent State countrywide. And when is Kate Brown going to sic the Oregon National Guard on the Lewis and Clark campus anyway......???

College kids are just dumbasses. They don't know shit. Once they get jobs and join the real world they forget about this shit. But they want to feel like they are "making a difference" or doing something with their worthless lives, so they find reasons to protest. A crime was committed....if you want to have a demonstration to show solidarity, that's fine, but why "protest" the college president?? What did he do wrong?

Took that job, obviously.

Here is a list of their demands.

  • Apologize for being absent during the Saturday morning attack and for failing, in the students' eyes, to speak out about the incident promptly enough after it happened.
  • Commit to fulfilling the students' demands.
  • Admit what they say is his failure to prioritize the safety and security of students of color during his time as president.
  • Reaffirm his commitment to the safety of international students.
  • Acknowledge that Lewis & Clark is built on land taken from Native Americans, honors slave owners, appropriates Native American culture in some of its art and architecture and asserts the legacy of Anglo-American white supremacy.

I'm sorry I was in Washington DC when the attacks took place. And I neglected to hire a personal body guard for every non-white student. This college is secretly happy that slavery took place, and looks to plantation owners as role models of what we should all aspire to be. We need to stop doing that.

We also stole native american culture by using native american art, and failed to pay them royalties. We stole this land from the Indians. So henceforth, all of the tuition that has been paid by our students will be given to the Spirit Mountain casino, and all the college credits our students have earned will be deemed null and void.

Man, this political correctness is going to be the death of this country

Some people call "Political Correctness" what it really is:

Respect.

When I was 19 I found out my cousin (as close as a brother) was gay. He came out to the family. I had a choice:

A. Continue to use the word "fag" and be disrespectful or,

B. Take that word out of my vernacular and actually learn what it means to be gay.

I chose B because I love my cousin and I genuinely want to treat others with respect. People who complain about being PC usually don't give a shit about the latter.

Geez, if the guy was that close, how the hell did you ignore the obvious for so long?
He must have at least flinched when you flung the fag word.
