Ha! Well that will be something good to look for out of this fiasco.

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/krautham...iberalism-will-be-set-back-a-full-generation/

Yesterday I join a group on yahoo of retired employees, people like myself exchange info on how to navigate this healthcare insurance mess and other important issues There are 130, 000 of us and no one has been able to get a damn thing to work. No one can buy insurance like we had, hell so far no one can buy any period. One big bunch of pissed off people.

We all thought we had these issues taken care of by putting in the time to qualify for retirement. Ha! Poof! If the total liberal agenda is smashed, it may all be worth the price.
I think we will find a way through this no thanks or help from Obama, but we will pickup a few allies for the next election.

Group one believes, "The government is monitoring our electronic communications! That's an invasion of privacy!"

Group two believes, "Let's put all our personal and health care information into a giant database run by a government bureaucracy, they guarantee they won't invade our privacy!"

The size of the Venn Diagram overlap between these two groups is mind-boggling.

Mind-boggling to me for sure! Ah hell that doesn't even come close to saying it! Words do not cover this sort of deep shit.

Re: Liberalism " set back a full generation" Hrauthammer

Krauthammer (if you can't spell your hero's name, at least get the first letter right) is the scummiest media personality in the U.S. He was the first columnist to advocate torture, and the only one until years later, a couple of scared ones followed him. His face is so scarred and ugly that Fox never shows him in profile, since the portrait side is bad enough.

He's a truly evil character. One could more verifiably say (since this is how it happened last time) that if Republicans put all their eggs (credibility) into the shutdown basket, which they did and then fell on their faces, the party will be set back for one to two elections.

man, I wont even bother with you hateful slurs. I read a book on the guy and found it fantastic to learn all he has overcome to get where he is. Really, man, there are tons of people to hate on, this is not one. You could take the combined IQ of CNN and not even tickle where this guy is. Mind you, I am not being a fanboi, rather a solid respect for the man

Well looky looky, the jilpoke looks down on Krauthammer.

He's the biggest torture advocate in the media (not hard, since there are so few). He has kept quiet about that issue the last few years, to keep his career going.

You misrepresent what he actually said.

If he (Obama) does not succeed with Obamacare, the cause of the kind of expansive liberalism, the kind of entitlement state he’s been looking for, I think will be set back a full generation.

someone purposely misstating what someone said to make it sound like their beliefs are backed up?!

WHA!??!

repped.

I find it terribly amusing that had the Republicans just rode out the healthcare bill, and not freaked out about it and shut down the government the tides of power would be DRAMATICALLY different right now. The GOP would definitely be poised to take senate seats.

So let's get this straight. ObamaCare proving to be a disaster. Republicans fought it tooth and nail because it's a disaster. Even shut the government down to save millions their insurance policies.

And who's the losers? The interesting question is actually, "Why?"

Democrats have finally learned a lesson, ironically from the Republicans. Give them just enough rope to hang themselves.

The Obamacare web site is proving to be a disaster, which is fixable. Obamacare itself is still under review.

People dislike being lied to. The number of people that realize they have been lied to is growing daily.

Is this bizarro world?! I totally agree with you.

One of my best friends just had her insurance cancelled. Her new policy is over $500 a month. She's over 50, not the youth types ObamaCare is to screw over to bring down everyone else's cost - in theory.

Another is comptroller at a small company. Their insurance carrier is allowing them early sign up for 2014, but in January the cost is doubling.

Yep, it's getting reviewed. The reviews are "it stinks."

It is getting reviewed, a whole lot of people are getting jolted awake now. Perhaps I won't be the lone guy writing to my Congressman or Senator with this stuff.

Samples;

*********************

Well here it is nearly October and I have no idea what my health insurance coverage will be or how much
it will cost for me and my wife. I have had isurance for 52 years provided for us by the company that
I worked with for nearly 40 years.

When Barrack Obama said, "if you like your health care you can keep it!" I cringed! I knew damn well
that if the government provided an out, the company would drop us.

I have been inform about an exchange that will guide me through the process next month.
This is just wonderful, work for 40 years to get life time healthcare and shazam all gone.
We will have the same dang healthcare chit as everyone else has even if they didn't do squat.

Now I know both of my Senators voted to bring me this blessing, but damn, you would think I could
know something about it before it is upon me. Just how the hell did you fellas find this plan
to be so wounderful and garner your vote? I know nothing good about it, please tell me why I
should be pleased you helped me obtain this ACA, corner stone of the great Barrack Obama?

***********************************************

How can it be when you voted for this ACA that you didn't know that people covered by their employer
or former employer in the case of retirees, would be dropped by the employer?
The law contains a Tax on the employers for each person that they would continue to cover.
Why was this tax implemented? It can not be to obtain revenue to cover other people.

If it was, that was very dumb as well as totally unfair to the employers as well as the employees and
retirees.

It sure looks to me like the tax was intended to encourage employers to drop retirees and spouses
to force more people into the exchanges.

You fellas really deserve a just reward for this plan.

Barrack Obama deserves his too for telling us at least 50 times that "If you like your current healthcare
You can Keep it!" A Complete lie.

Canned Respone recieve from Peter De

My response to him;

Congressman,

I just received a response from your office and it appears you did not even read my email that I sent to you. It appears to be a canned response.

One thing in the response is especially irritating, about how the affordable care act does not effect me.

I will remember you are clueless, I view the tax on employers
for each person cover by health coverage as being designed to intentionally cause employers to drop people they have covered, like employees, spouses, and retirees.
It was successfully, my coverage has been terminated and you sir are responsible in my view.

If Obamacare fails, they'll just blame it on the GOP and the insurance companies and go for socialized medicine. Let's be frank; it's what they wanted all along.

Krauthammer is wrong. The failure of Obamacare will be a boon for liberalism.

The entire industry of insurance companies raised everybody's rates massively every year for the last 6-7 years. It's called collusion and/or a monopoly, and is an illegal over-reaction to government oversight/involvement in the healthcare field.

It is caused by criminals, and a government that has so far not prosecuted the criminals. It has nothing to do with Obamacare.

So by my count that makes your two friends and every conservative republican who already hates Obamacare.

You say "they'll just blame it one the GOP" like the GOP is actively working to improve and facilitate the implementation of Obamacare, or doing anything other than acting like a tantruming toddler in a grocery store who blames you later for forgetting their favorite snack.

The essential guide to applying spin to a rotten situation.

Thanks.

The logic is along the lines of you want a VW but the govt. makes you pay for a Rolls Royce you can't afford. The spin is, the Rolls Royce is better!

More like the VW didn't come with breaks or a steering wheel so now you have to buy an Audi.

I don't defend the program just to defend it, I just feel that we need to actually give it a chance and at some point people have to disagree and commit rather than shutting the government down.

By the way Obama care is working out ok for me. We just found out at work whats going on, increase of 6% for health plans, but they are sneakily removing eye care from the health plan and making us pay for that separate. That's a generic increase however, as whats really happening is that they are consolidating most of our plans into 3 to choose from. Im looking at moving to a higher deductible plan with a HSA account, which will actually end up saving me money. The only real problem is that now I actually have to understand my healthcare plan and how it works to make a decision

More like the VW made the owner perfectly happy and safe. What the owner wanted.

Aim a potato gun at your nuts. Bad idea! ObamaCare, bad idea! Some things are really obvious without trying it to find out.

The only people who are going to be happy are sycophants and the insurance companies. And the sycophants are already making noise like they realize how bad a deal this is.

Corporate cronyism.

Outright lie.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/opini...te-congress-obama-health-care-column/3315785/

Delaying Obamacare — the once unthinkable — has now become a potential reality. And it's not just a Republican idea any longer. Ten Senate Democrats, all in vulnerable seats, have proposed extending the healthcare law's enrollment period because people still can't sign up at Healthcare.gov.

More precisely, they seek to delay collecting the tax penalty for failing to buy insurance under Obamacare's individual mandate. However, this congressional retreat raises a difficult political question for the president and congressional Democrats: They must now admit that Obamacare's individual mandate is actually a tax, something they've resisted doing in public for years.

The individual insurance mandate can't be a requirement to buy insurance because that unprecedented demand was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. Instead, the court identified the mandate as a tax on millions of Americans. If that's true, it must be forthrightly identified as such and scored by the Congressional Budget Office. The White House and congressional Democrats can no longer have it both ways. Here's why.

The text of the Affordable Care Act contained an "individual responsibility requirement" that compelled or mandated people to buy health insurance. The statute said that a person "shall" — in other words, must — "ensure" that she "is covered" by a health insurance policy. Those who fail to get covered will be punished by having to pay a "penalty." The section of the law was even titled, "Requirement to maintain minimum essential coverage." In 2010 when it was enacted, everyone understood how this law worked. People had to buy insurance or pay a fine.

But, when defending the law before the Supreme Court, the administration took the opposite position, and insisted that the law did not compel people to purchase insurance. Solicitor General Donald Verrilli emphatically denied that there was an "entirely stand-alone" requirement to buy insurance. It was this concession by the administration that Chief Justice John Roberts used to save the law. Under Roberts' saving interpretation of the ACA, no one is required to purchase health insurance, so there is no mandate. There is only a tax on people who don't buy insurance. And, the Court said, that tax must be low enough to preserve the "choice" or option to not buy insurance. No one can be punished for being uninsured.

No, I say they'll blame this mess--which is completely their own creation--on the Republicans because they can't come to terms with the fatal flaw in their vision.

This is what happens when you ram through a massive social program on a strict party line vote. Republicans offered amendment after amendment, and they were shut out by Speaker Pelosi and Leader Reid. Now the GOP has no responsibility for this legislation. In fact, their platform is representing the people who don't want it. So, of course they are trying to put up roadblocks. You don't think Democrats have done the same with legislation they don't like?
